If Kell brook eyesocket holds up, I think he can be a dangerous fight for Crawford as he is much bigger and can punch a bit as well
Here we go again...apparently Khan was going "to give him problems" and he quit. Crawford destroys Brook.
Kell Brook is a really good fighter, he just took on two terrible matchups back to back. The Golovkin fight was completely unnecessary and than to go back down 2 weight classes (which is never recommended) and take on the toughest guy at WW was almost career suicide. He hasn't been too active and he could use at least 1 fight at WW to ensure he can make the division comfortably and that he still has a good amount left in the tank. I was impressed with Kell even when he lost to Errol. When he's on form he's a dangerous fighter at 147 lbs.
Agreed. I've always enjoyed watching Brook fight. His timing and counter punching were both excellent. But, his best days are behind him. The back to back fights with GGG and Spence, and having both orbitals broke have taken a lot out of him. I didn't like the way Hearn handled him, and I think it's time for Kell to ponder retirement.
You're probably right. It's hard to assess Brook right now because of his soft opposition since his 2 losses. He also hasn't been fighting at 147 lbs but also hasn't made a full commitment of fighting at 154. Those orbital issues will always be problematic if he decides to keep moving on with his career. It still makes sense for him and Khan to square up at this juncture in their careers. I'd favor Brook to knock him out but he needs at least 1 tune up before that big matchup.
Problem is, it would have been a great fight 4 years ago maybe. Brook shouldn't be at 147 anymore, he's completely dead at the weight. And at 154, Brook destroys Crawford and it won't be a great fight there either. Crawford is too small for 154 at the moment, although that may change when he ages. If we were able to throw out all those factors and everything was perfect for both of them, then that fight is one hell of a contest. Otherwise it's one way traffic depending on the weight. 147 and Crawford dominates, 154 and Brook dominates. 150 would make more sense, but obviously...it wouldn't make any sense really because Crawford holds a belt at 147 so there would be no reason for him to go for some 150lbs contest just for Brook. I don't want to see it. I want Crawford vs Spence and Brook vs Hurd. That's what everybody and their dog wants.
Brook is done. It's ridiculous talking about him facing Crawford or rematching Spence etc. He's done. He could fight Khan, also done, and make some decent money, but he's not coming back as a serious force in any division. Did I mention he's done?
