Well, I've just about got over last night's shambles, and it seems as if this one has gone under the radar. Danny fighting Zoltan Petranyi in Budapest tonight over 12 rounds for the "UBO European Heavyweight Title" :-( This is a rematch, it's Petranyi's 46th birthday today and he is hoping to "celebrate" with a win over Danny who stopped him in 3 back in 2005. Danny is once again claiming this will be his last fight, but he's said that so many times before. Good luck to Danny, hopefully he can retire on a win and then retire for good. Finally. Please. :deal
This fight should be it for Danny, if he can stay the 12 he should be fine. Petranyi is far from a punch so Danny really shouldnt have anything to worry about, his own punch is still there so he really should be able to get Petranyi out of there and then please god retire
Danny has already spoken of how he does not know what to do next and how much he loves fighting. I dont see him stopping until he no longer gets paid a decent wage- whatever that is to him and until he is no longer physically able to. I see a few more fights in him to be honest after this one, win or lose.
He's not in financial trouble, though. He owns two properties and sends his kids to private school. He's now qualified as a bodyguard and claims he's going to pursue that, but he will keep getting offered fights and I reckon he won't be able to stay away regardless of the money on offer.
I do think that Danny will win tonight and hang 'em up for good. He's been pretty candid about the level he now operates at, and this is probably his best chance to retire not only on a win but with a belt as well. Anyone know how i can legally watch this in the UK? I presume it's being broadcast in Hungary as Petranyi seems like their nunber one. Would like to see Danny's final fight live...
Danny had an "accident" this afternoon leading to a cut above his right eye, the fight may be cancelled.
Get a grip you losers, if Danny Williams wants to fight at a lower level.......Let him. Michael Jordan probably still plays basketball from time to time and Linford Christie is 52 years old and still trains... So ****ing what if Danny Williams wants to fight, he is a grown man. And if he is hurt, then so be it! You can get hurt in boxing, all that matters is that he is still having fun.
