    Umm, the purpose of the thread is to count how many times this guy pulls the plug.... We're not talking about bad and good stoppages.... We're talking about, him doing this so much that he got a catchphrase..

    I know he's looking out for em but sometimes I think he calls it too soon. Macklin looked clear to me and had that minute to recover. I would've let him go even though he was probably not making it through the next. It's the middleweight championship of the world! That's worth the risk! Macklin wanted it.

    Man inagine him being in Steve Cunninghams corner? He'd have pulled USS out against Adamek and twice against Hernandez.

    I literally said before the fight to my girl (who doesn't know buddy), that I bet that trainer at some point in this fight is gonna say "I'm stoppin it baby!!"
    He didn't say it though

    I don't have a problem with 99% of his stoppages. If a trainer stops it, fans complain, if they let their guy take punishment, fans complain. It is what it is.

    Fighters that get with buddy just have to know that he's not going to let them take beatings, he's been a fighter himself so knows as good as anyone that the trainer is there for the fighter.

    But he does stop a lot of fights... kinda the opposite of garcia. Each have their place and I think fighters need to keep that in mind with both when they hire them.

    I thought Buddy done a pretty good job. Most people probably felt Macklin would go to war with Martinez, Buddy got him to box to orders throughout the fight and that probably saved Macklin from a serious beat down.

    Same with Gatti. Gatti was about as tough as they come but Buddy helped to prolong his career by teaching him how to box.

    The fans would prefer to see a war but Buddy has a job to do and i for one thought he done it well.
