Colin was a fighter who just had to find the Chin ..on Target.. to Terminate matters... But his delivery System could be a bit Lacking, He Had McCrory all at sea and wide-eyed with Apprehension once he knew that this welsh Dragon was Flint Hard, Breathing Fire...And would not stop coming... If i watch the fight to this day i still find myself Yelling for Colin to "Cut The Ring.." but he never did ...he chased after Milt.. The Iceman was Melting... But Colin Just could not find the shot to Vaporise him... He Never Cut The Ring... And Against Kirk Laing he twice got Lucky and eventually found the Target , But James will not make these Rudimentary mistakes, He will keep Colin Turning, and Colin does not Corner well, lets put it this way, If James can stay one and Half Steps ahead of a Hunting Simon Brown... Then a Stalking/Following Colin Jones will not Close the Escape Route... Exciting Yes, Colin Missing by a Whisker on Occassion Yes, But the Composed Buddy Stays fairly unfuffled... and wins a Clear Decision... Colin needs a Armando Muniz / Mayorga / Maybe even a Quartey to Raise some Stateside Eyebrows..
Mcgirt at his best should win comfortably and school Jones at times.Colin's plodding, straight-line, basic textbook stalking style is ideally suited to Buddy technically. However what makes it relatively interesting is Buddy not being the sturdiest at 147...he.never had the best stamina and could be hurt.Jones retired in his prime while he still had plenty to offer, so he's not the easiest fighter to judge, but i still rate him as one of the hardest 147 pure punchers since Cuevas and Hearns. If Buddy fades badly like he did in his Welter defence against Genaro Leon, where he was gassed from about the 7th round against an ordinary, if awkward foe, then Jones would give him a beating late on and quite likely stop him while behind on points. As long as Buddy stays away from engaging too much, and his stamina doesn't fail him, it's his fight though.
