Bud v Buddy - this is a very good matchup.

Crawford is a very good fighter and McGirt was the definition of very good. Let’s see where Crawford stands after Spence. I’ll happily make a judgment then.

I think Jaron Ennis might turn out better than Crawford and Spence but we'll see, early days yet. But some of these top Welterweights need to start fighting eachother.

His handspeed was great. Meldrick was so efficient with his handspeed that I think it affected his being more defensive, which might have helped him. Picking his shots and working the body, but he was a great fighter. Up to that point I had never seen Chavez so tired after a fight.

Yes Meldrick was definitely one dimensional. It was a formidable dimension but when taking on the top echelon he'd have to hope for stylistic breaks.

Haha - I’d forgotten I even posted this!

I like both fighters and Crawford at least now has something on his resumé to base a possible win over McGirt on. I hesitantly go for Bud but I’m not so confident in that pick that a Buddy win would surprise me. So definitely someone with Bud in their name ;)

I thought McGirt had something wrong with him vs Taylor. He said something about having an ear infection or something along the lines of throwing his balance off that night.

This would be a tough fight for Crawford. Buddy was a sharp boxer with a snappy lefthook. He knew how to fight. Crawford is similar in boxing IQ.

It's nip and tuck but something tells me Crawford is just too strong at Welterweight. He was an explosive puncher and ruthless finisher. Nobody had stopped Porter or Spence until Bud got to them.

I think the boots trained has left the station. He's been disappointment up to this point. He doesn't appear to want to fight anyone dangerous.

Fan of McGirt but Crawford is a step above him. I think Bud stoppage isn't out of the question but he would definitely win.

Agreed with the above. Buddy was an excellent fighter, but there's no reasonable argument for taking him here. Bud is a cut above him in terms of talent, skill, and firepower. Bud's also a lot physically stronger.

I agree, that was a baffling loss. I remember afterwards it was said that Brown went into that completely weight drained. Who knows.
