I was talking to a brother at work today and I said "Damn, Crawford whooped that ass . Did you see the fight?"

He said he did. Then he got all quiet. Reading this thread, that brother was probably pulling for Spence. I should have known.

Hey, I was too, but I knew Crawford was gonna beat that ass down. Spence aint lb 4 lb anymore after those car wrecks.

 

You said blacks don’t love Crawford because he is an introvert. You say you are black and yet love Crawford. I am black and like Crawford and from what I can tell, the few other blacks on this site also like Crawford. I was challenging your generalization that blacks don’t like Crawford because of the way he carries himself because it’s not true.

 

I think it’s more of a LDBC thing. Those guys don’t like Crawford because he spent most of his career working for “the enemy”. Also most of that crowd seem to be thuggish ex-cons from the south and Crawford is from Nebraska so he’s not as inclined to involve himself in the activities they enjoy engaging in ( strip clubs, drinking lean, flashing fancy rental cars, dog fighting etc).

The whole LDBC and PBC scene attracts some ignorant people.... That happen to be black. And sadly they are the loudest ones in the room when one of their fighters loses.

The complete inability to handle defeat with grace and class, even resorting to complete delusion, is an ugly aspect of our society. That wasn't directed at Spence in particular but towards all of these "fans".

 

I think it mostly has to do with Spences whole group thing. His Texas gym has a lot of good fighters and they carry themselves kind of like a team. People like latching onto teams. Crawford is just Crawford. People get really personal when their favorite sports teams lose. I think a little bit of that psychology is happening here. Spence's Texas branding has given him a lot of groupies that will take any of his failures personally. Then on top of that Spence is under the PBC flag, which is another team that people will blindly latch onto and support for some reason.

They do but they believe the Spence hype because of that stupid Mayweather sparring story. That story made the Errol Spence mythology legendary amongst casuals. "The man that gave Floyd hell", how could someone not make Spence a god ,plus his resume right. Yet they don't know about the boxing politics between Haymon, Arum, and Oscar. They don't know that PBC was intentionally blackballing Crawford. They don't even realize that Spence fought to make this fight happen. Haymons a *****.

 

Remember the "watch the fight in slo-mo" fiasco after May vs Pac?
Or the "Ward beat Kovalev with a low blow" drama?
Or the "Fury drugged Wilder" bit.

I hate boxing fans. You don't hear this in MMA to this degree.

 

i dont see him as cocky or arrogant at all. Hes just extremely confident in his skills and what he can do. Its 2 completely diff things.

 

crawford was wrapping his hands the same way fultons camp was complaining monster was. They went to his dressing room before the fight with jim gray. pull the clip i garuntee thats illegal. both camps musta allowed to wrap that way
