In the process of adding an addition onto my house. I am planning on putting a 1000 square foot basement. 10 foot ceilings. I want to get a ring 16x16. I got all the weights, medicine balls, floor mats, double end bag, water heavy bag. what other ideas of things u think i should get for the gym? Plan is to eventually open up to people. I know some people say 1000 sq is small. I dont think so. 40x25 is the dimensions. what does everyone think?

I dont see why not. The boxing gym I started at in Milwaukee (Medina Boxing Gym) was the second story of a motorcross bike factory, and it was only maybe 30x70. It had a ring, a couple (I think 7) heavy bags surrounding it, speed bags in the corner, two double end bags and a couple bikes and weights. Other than that I think a basic boxing gym just has the gear and pads, as well as an uppercut bag. I personally have never used one, and have never seen anyone use them either... but they're there. Then basics like timer(s) and jump ropes and such. I dont know though, I dont own one or anything... just tryin to help. Good luck to ya.

Speed bad and uppercut bag, a pull up bar, mirrors so people can see themselves, and you'll need a timer to keep track of the rounds.

Some cardio equipment would be nice like olipticals or however they are spelled, treadmill, stairstepper etc as lots of folks dont like outside running for it being to hard on the joints.

I want an uppercut bag, throwing them on a normal bag blows. Oh and I second the "wish I had loads of money and a giant basement" sentiment :good

its good for uppercuts into the body and chin

I've always liked the look of those massive bags that are perfectly round, I remember seeing that Ross Enamait geezer beating the **** out of one in a video.
