Lemieux looked at the ref basically begging him to stop after that last body shot.

Didn't like it but it shouldn't be too controversial

No name ref panicks. Yes, GGG was dominant but Lemieux was giving a fair effort in movement and offence once in a while. The ref just zoned in on the broken nose and the accumulation and stopped it rather randomly - I'm sorry but the fighter's corner is in the best position to make that call. Stupid boxing, MMA is nowhere near this *****.

did you see that last bodyshot, it was clear as day he had enough, he looked to the ref and was clearly hurt, you dont take your eyes off a fighter infront of you ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS GGG.

    good stoppage

Just what I thought when I seen it doesn't mean he's not a tough guy. Could also be he's worried about the ref stopping it. Irrelevant really anyway the guy was just going take more of a beating, no disrespect though.

He did nothing of the sort. Your interpreration is just motivated reasoning. Lemieux was ready to take this to the final bell. Whether or not it would have happened who knows, but when a fighter show you defence and offence as a ref you do not stop the fight, period.

He looked at the ref because the little creep was bouncing about in front of him more than GGG was.

Yep you could see the no name ref was ready to stop this fight and was itching for any kind of moment no matter how lousy. And yes, this was a ****ty moment. This is why you don't let no name refs do fights of this much importance.

Blah blah blah, ref stoppages are just clueless when a fighter is fighting back and defending and that's precisely what David was doing. Sure he was getting dominated with precision and power but that doesn't mean he couldn't keep this fight up till the 12th and go to the cards, with some small punchers chance to score points and get a stoppage. And that's what boxing is about: See Huck vs. Glowacki earlier this year to know what real reffing is all about. This stoppage looks like it was prearranged to get GGG his further KO percentage up. I will say this - GGG was hit good a few times by KO artist himself and just rolled with his punches. GGG looks to have a good chin so another question has been answered.
