If the ref cant stomach the action, then he shouldnt be in there.
In the last 10 seconds, the best shot that landed was a short right hand from Lemieux.
The only thing that GGG landed was a couple of jabs. He threw 4-5 hooks and right hands after --- all missed.
And the ref stops the fight.
Lemieux was just starting to come on.
He definately had a good chance of knocking GGG out.
Bull **** stoppage.

DL got battered for 8 rounds, and the beating was only getting worse.
He definitely could have stayed on his feet, but the sustained beating took a toll it was clear on DL's face at the end. Good stoppage!

it was more of an odd stoppage than a bad stoppage.

the bigger issue I have is ggg hitting lemiuex while he was down and the ref didnt even say "dont do that" he just counted as if it was a legal blow

 

Ref was re****ed. What actually happened was this:

GGG hit David with another solid bodyshot. Lemeuix was hurt and thought about going down and taking a knee.
Ref mistook it as Lemeuix not having his legs under him and stopped the fight. Terrible, terrible stoppage.
Still think GGG would have won but you dont shortchange the fans like that.

If the ref had of let it go on he would have been heavily criticised and rightly so. He made the right call and Lem showed a lot of courage.

Lemieux was hurt badly by a body punch and was getting beaten badly............................if the ref had not stopped the fight, Lemieux would have been knocked out anyway...........................Lemieux was in trouble............................I wish the ref had let the fight go a little longer, Lemieux would have gone down, but it was a very dangerous situation........

 

Yes I saw that in the slow mo review. Even though I thought the stoppage was premature , Lemiuex seized on it to try and save some face. He knows he was done.

 

Looked like a British stoppage made in USA if I've ever seen one. Pretty terrible IMO

 

Ahhhhhh ... GGG nailed him with a body shot and he stumbled along the ropes for 3 or 4 steps wincing in pain hunched over and the ref stepped in.

wtf have you been smoking. GGG won every round, put him down once, and then Lemiuex drops his hands after a body shot and looked at the ref in pain. there was still half the round to go. KDKSAB.

 

Lemieux constantly kept looking to the ref and complain about rabbit punches (that never happened). It was obvious he didn't wanna be in there. Still the stoppage was a bit anti-climactic.

 

And based on your recent posts, you don't understand it, especially when it comes to certain levels, as evidenced by this fight.
