A trailer for Bully Beatdown, a new MTV show presented by Jason "Mayhem" Miller. The shows premise is that professional MMA fighters fight bullies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8_uhaByoBs
:rofl Is this stuff for real? I can't believe some guys would think about accepting this. You'd have to have your head well up your arse to think you could hang with a pro fighter without training.
Exactly, I thought it was a joke as first too but its real. I do remember reading a while back that Mayhem was going to host a show but wasn't too sure what it was about. Wouldn't surprise me if some of this is scripted. From the official site: Fight rules are simple -- there are two, 3- minute rounds of fighting with up to $10,000 at stake for each round. Round 1 involves grappling and submissions -- The Bully starts the round with $5,000, but will lose $1,000 every time he "taps out". If at any time the bully manages to submit the MMA fighter, the bully wins an additional $5,000 bonus. Round 2 is all about kickboxing -- the bully will win another $5,000 if he can survive 3 minutes of kickboxing with the MMA fighter and not get knocked out. If the bully gets knocked out, quits, or the referee stops the fight before the end of the round, he gets nothing. If the bully manages to knock out the MMA fighter, he gets a $5,000 bonus. Any money deducted from the bully in either Round 1 or Round 2 will go to the victims. (Please note, these rules are subject to change) At the end of show, Mayhem calculates the winnings and tells the bully how much he has lost and how much is going to his victims. After the fight is over, one would hope that the bully will have learned a valuable lesson and will stop picking on people smaller and weaker then him. Will the bully changes his ways? Or someday in the future, will he need another beatdown? :rofl http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/bully_beatdown/series.jhtml
You wouldn't believe how many morons out there that think they are all that. They never trained or sparred, or bullied anyone who fights back. I don't think they'll have trouble finding people for first season(especially for the money) before word gets out.
That looks great! ufoalf said it- there would be countless guys out there who seriously think they would have a chance against a pro because they push around weak people. You see that **** at local boxing gyms- some tough guy with no boxing experience but has probably beat up some kids gets in the ring with a smaller guy who's had a few am fights and gets completely worked
I mean, if you can avoid tapping 5 times in 3 minutes you can make at least a grand. Sure, you are going to get beat up really bad, but theoretically you could make a nice bit of pocket change even though you have no chance of actually WINNING!
Realistically though, it would be upto the producers and actual fighters whether or not these guys survived. If a skilled BJJ guy wanted a sub he could go and take it. It would be even worse with the kickboxing because a pro could make an average guy quit in under 20 secs if he REALLY wanted to- or was told to, so the 'bully' didn't make any coin.
Ahhhhaaaha! This show is stupid, sad AND awesome! By the way, this won't "teach" the bullies ****. They'll probably just be more pissed off at the guys they picked on and will use any punch they happen to land on one of the pros as proof of how badass they are. Still, I'll probably end up watching it once or twice.
Are we supposed to believe that genuine bullied people are getting pro MMA fighter's to beat up their bullies for them?
Any bully with balls would just whoop their victim again after the show is finished. Do you guys really believe that this is genuine?
I saw this thread over at the T-Nation.com forums. For those who don't know, T-Nation is a bodybuilding/fitness site. I should preface this by saying that there is no evidence that this guy is an ******* or anything. However, it does show how much some people underestimate how hard being a pro fighter is. http://www.t-nation.com/free_online...w_fighters_whats_the_deal?id=2869505&pageNo=0
I like the idea but I doubt these contestants are genuine bullies. Mostlikely people who wants extra cash to fight on a show.
