Bums really thought GGG was ducking lara

I've always thought that Lara would be a pretty routine night for Golovkin, and Lord knows I'm no acolyte of Golovkin. Lara is a pure junior middleweight whose legs are his primary defence, which isn't defence enough against a guy who cuts the ring well — and, as tough and fit as he is, the resulting attrition would be too much for him.

Besides which, I never thought he really wanted the fight. It was just PR.

 

Problem is we will never know.

Golovkin has got to hold the record of beating guys he's never fought. At least according to his fanatics.

Hurd won that fight because he’s a cruiserweight . Lara is a very god fighter, but I believe GGG in his prime would have stopped him.

 

It would have been a good fight with ggg eating those left hands but eventually ggg would get to him

If Lara was serious about fighting Golovkin all he had to do was move up to middleweight and earn his shot, but he never did. If he didn't even have confidence in himself that he could compete at middleweight why should anybody else have that confidence in him....

 

Probably. But he didn't take the fight. And it would currently be among his best couple wins, if not the. But it didn't happen, so no biggie. Maybe it does in the future, who knows. To say we have seen Golovkin fight anyone like Lara seems opposite of the truth. Would have been great to see a at any point 2012-present.

 

Well Canelo was very lucky against Lara and he may well have been dirty too, it's a question that has to be asked, it has to be marked as a potential dirty Canelo.

But anyway, Golovkin is ducking EVERYBODY, Canelo withdraws and apparently GG don't want the fight.

Golovkin definitely wants to fight Canelo again. He just also definitely wants to fight that Munguai welterweight kid.

GGG vs Lara has been talked for over 3 - 4 years. Now they both are past their primes but the fight still has not happened.

 

If GGG couldn't land anything significant on Canelo how is he going to do it against Lara..

There's a reason why he doesn't fight top slick fighters.
