Its not as though we live in a 1984 style dystopia where listening to Steve Bunce is compulsory, if you don't like him then just ignore him, I do.

 

Bunce is just.....Bunce. A lot of people don't like him and I totally get why but plenty of people DO like him and he's probably not a bad thing for the sport in the UK.

He tends to over state his knowledge without doubt, it's easy to pre-plan your research and appear knowledgeable on a subject that you have revised for a show or a telephone interview but he often gets things totally wrong when put on the spot. He was telling anyone who would listen that Kevin Mitchell was the insiders choice against Burns and look how that turned out!

He clearly has this image of people that post on forums as guys who sit at home just watching videos on youtube and reading boxrec, that is quite insulting as plenty of people on here attend fights regularly and also box at their local gyms and support local fighters. Just because one of us isn't driving 300 miles and back on a Thursday night to watch the Divs doesn't mean that we're not fans of the sport or can't comment on other topics. He's stupid for alienating people on ESB and other forums because I would say at least 50% or more of boxnation subscribers either read or post on boxing forums so he's only hurting the company he stands by so vehemently by attacking us.

I don't have any particular issue with Bunce I just find him slightly embarrassing but you have to be a slightly extreme personality to come across on TV so I forgive him for that, however, he needs to shake off this dinosaur view that the internet isn't reflective of real life. A lot of the lads on here don't have the money to attend all these shows all the time and he needs to remember that when he goes off on one on Twitter and makes these mad claims at least one person loses all respect for him and considers cancelling BN.

Aside from that, I do also think we should all leave him alone, we know what happened and it's clear that there's a bit of history with Bunce and ESB rightly or wrongly, and by making threads attacking him and all the rest we're just giving him more airtime than he really requires. No one forces us to watch him and we all know from our time debating with him that he is no longer impartial when discussing boxing anyway so it's futile to war with him anyway!

 

People take it too personally, i like Bunce hes a good charachter! All you haters need ta get a grip man

These little bitches on here can't leave it alone. He doesn't post on here any more and to be honest it was the best move he ever made, he just got loads of trollers and attention whores throwing abuse at him.

 

Thats true, he was a very regular poster but driven off by trolls and cry babies. Theres only so much **** that one person can take before snapping back.

 

The way he was treated by some was poor but many I thought had valid points, he earned a lot of fans, myself included through his Setanta days and his Thursday night Boxing hour, when he started to work for Boxnation there was a noticeable change and was a shock to see him a company yes man.

I don't blame him by the way, everybody has to earn money but he then started to take any and all criticism personally, even constructive, what makes me laugh is he ****s this place off because of ''keyboard warriors'' and starts using Twitter that has thousands more?
