Any proof whatsoever or just trying to disrupt a legitimate question? Its not like ive attacked Billy or anything so whats your issue here?
Most sports viewers want to see boxing on BT. BT have become a major player with football TV rights, rugby and tennis so the addition of boxing should be welcomed by all boxing fans when it happens. Boxers will benefit financially from BT resources and the wider profile which is never going to happen with a single sport subscription channel with a very limited audience.
Only a matter of time before BT show boxing on the Sky Platform HD channels 413, 414 and 417. Unfortunately Dragon Punch, the existence of the single sport boxing channel is an irrelevance for 99.99% of TV sports viewers.
Why would BT buy a share in BoxNation? BoxNation has no assets of any value. Do any of you understand how businesses work? **** me.
Probably rates somewhere behind the carp fishing channel, yeah. I'm not going to knock it though. It exists because interest in boxing has dwindled, it hasn't caused the dwindling of interest. It caters to a niche audience.
Because long term SKY and BT will be at war and there's a ready made company which BT would hope will compete with SKY and given extra revenue may overtake SKY
Billy, BT don't need BoxNation in order to show boxing. If they wanted too, they could put it out of business tomorrow. Look at what they did in order to get the Champions League football.
Because like it or not Frrank Warrren is still the biggest promoter in the country so BT would have to deal with him anyway in this supposed takeover of boxing so why put him out of business?? Perhaps with even more resources the station could go from strength to strength under BT... And yes I do mean he is a bigger promoter then Hearn who is more of an agent of sky sports then an actual promoter- if sky choose to pull some of his dates/budget when it comes to contract renewal time he's fcuked - and TbH I doubt he would care as he can just go back to the marketing wing of the family company or run the darts like Hearn snr did many years before when he jacked boxing in as he couldn't make much money out of it and left Frrank to carry the game-history may well repeat itself again...I have no real problem with Hearn by the way- I'm going to the froch fight and I actually think the undercard isn't to bad TBH.
Them doing deals with top rank, mayweather, frampton make me think they're trying to make themselves look more attractive as a buyout proposition with those long term deals Who does FW have under queensberry that is a big name and worth going for if you are BT - BT would be much better off doing deals for the likes of frampton and khan (up and comer who has star potential and khan who like it or not is one of the biggest household names in the sport, only froch of active fighters is bigger) and leave FW on the wayside, as right now he doesn't have anyone on his books worth making much of an effort for
Khan and Frampton are rare exceptions though mate and even then they still have promoters/managers - there not lone rangers like Mayweather. if it's just big uk stars that BT would be interested in then they be showing 1 card approx every 6 months so hardly throwing frrank to the wayside.
I can't be bothered to reply each of you individually so I'll post my response here. BoxNation has NO assets of any value. Whilst you might not like to hear it, boxing does ****-poor numbers in this country, so why would BT want to buy a company that predominantly shows US fights that occur when most sensible folk are asleep? It's easy to say they have deals with Top Rank etc, but have you seen the contracts? Do you know the break clauses? The terms? Etc etc. Of course you don't. If BT wanted to get involved in boxing they would. They'd do it by themselves and certainly wouldn't be needing to buy BoxNation. With all due respect, neither of you seem very business-minded. If you were, you'd understand that BT doesn't need BoxNation and that with its financial power it would simply budge them out of the way should it wish to enter boxing in a big way. There is nothing BoxNation has that could entice someone to take them over. Honestly, I can't believe I'm even having this discussion.
I forgot to mention that Terminator X has installed a flat screen on his bedroom ceiling so he can watch repeats of Boxnation in his sleep
