****** spends twenty minutes on the attack before expressing any sympathy for the fans, then immediately follows that by emphasising that the person he really feels sorry for is himself. What an absolute **** of a man.

    1. There was an apology in the initial statement.
    2. He's lost a lot of money on this postponement. Think he's entitled to be unhappy :conf

FW confirmed it in an interview with Tris Dixon the night before Burns-Mitchell.

He isn't a Boxing News journalist, I thought he was just a freelancer.

The sick note is pretty clear proof that there was a signed contract.

Whatever happened it's pretty clear we do now have a fight. Vazquez people have put out a statement saying he'll be ready in time and is looking forward to fighting on the new date.

So forget all this **** and let's just look forward to the fight.

Thats true Lilo, and from that perspective we can only draw (reasonable) inferences about what happened or didnt.

My GUESSS would be that Vasquez hadnt actually signed for the March date, which Mr Promoter believed Vasquez would relent on the money issue. When he / his management didnt, it became clear the card was doomed and had to be cancelled / postponed. Mr Promoter realised the problem of saying to people buy tickets for this card, even though it isnt 100%. They MAY have mutually agreed with Vasquez people that it would be better for all parties to have a position on events, ie he was sick.

ah sorry I thought he was.

Is it clear proof of signing? Even more so than the man himself saying he hadnt?

Maybe because it seems a number of people have a stake in Vasquez, it could have caused confusion / disagreement?

Very true but its a total kick in the balls for a lot of people to have lost hard earned money because of it.

It's more proof of signing than the converse. If Vazquez hadn't signed over the purse, then he had no reason to produce a sick note. All he had to say was that they couldn't come to terms in time for the original date. That would leave everyone clear.

Vazquez has no reason to cover Frank.

I dont see how you can automatically draw that conclusion.

Maybe now the money on offer is right and hes coming, so why would he upset the apple cart by causing problems for Frank?

Anyway tis swings and roundabouts. Il just look forward to the fight (he says optimistically)
