I thought Cortez had a shocker in the Hatton Mayweather fight, but wasn't the deciding factor in the winner of the fight. But this has been hashed and rehashed and will continue to be for a very long time! Time for Joe to go - he is awful lately, his handling of the Calzaghe Hopkins fight was just as bad (**** for both fighters this time), and this one just proves that his days have passed!
I did read the thread Cobbler, & it was about Bunceys rant about Cortez. To me hes only ranting because of the Hatton fight, him & most brits are so full of rage still about that fight that they pick on Cortez for anything & everything. Wasnt the thread titled 'Bunce talking great about Cortez'? yes, it was. & I gave my opinion on why Bunce was being a nasty sod. So I have done nothing wrong here. In fact, an apology for attacking my good self when I was only expressing an opinion on the subject matter would be most welcome, & much appreciated. After all, I think Im due one from yourself.
Cortez didn't alter the eventual outcome of Hatton-Mayweather BUT he did **** up what could have been a very interesting fight. Between that, the JC fight and Saturday night I'd say its time to go.
You didn't see anything wrong with his handling of Saturday's fight? How do you explain that so many non-Brits and people who defended his handling of the Hatton fight were outraged at his handling of it? Stop being such a girl.
I've written about the Hatton-Mayweather fight from ringside and countless times since, I've talked about it on Setanta, I did the delayed broadcast on BBC and it has been discussed on my BBC Five Live show a couple of times and I have never once blamed the ref or moaned about the ref. Cortez was old, infirm and unfair last Saturday. It's not a Hatton rant - it's a Cortez rant. Adios.
I agree with Dunky, we all now the agenda of you lot, and that includes Bunce. you couldn't give 2 hoots about that fight on saturday night, it's only because you see the chance to relate it to the Hatton-PBF and how hard done by Ricky supposedly was that it's been brought up. we never hear anything ebout shite reffing when it's Parris, Vann or one of that lot helping British fighters. So surely when Parris ****ed again in the Hatton-Tszyu fight and didn't call multiple fouls and blatant cheating, he shoulda been sent out to graze? Bah.............
Betty has a point here. Parris missed those multiple fouls by Tszyu, which resulted in Hatton reacting - if Parris had done a good job, he would have punished Tszyu in the correct manner and Hatton wouldn't have had to take the law into his own hands. P.s Why is every fan in the world saying Cortez ****ed up badly?? Are they all Hatton fans?
You know you were out of order with me Cobbs, you KNOW it! Your too proud to admit it though... Even though the proof is there for all to see:deal
You really didn't watch the fight did you? Then you didn't read the thread, charged in making assumptions about what was being discussed (wrongly due to not having watched the fight/incident in question) and have been blustering ever since in an attempt to cover up. All we need is you to declare that you're leaving ESB for good again and it'll be 'Best of Dunky' in one little neat megamix :yep
What we need from a ref in world chmapionship fights is consistency if you penalise hatton for holding, then why not B hopkins. Thats why referees get a bollocking in each sport from football to rugby.
Now there is no need in that I was only giving my opinion. Yes it didn't matter who reffed hatton v floyd because hatton was completely battered all I was saying is that referees no matter what form of sport most be consistent.
Don't waste your time replying to dan b, he's a **** who seems to have nothing better to do than whine, argue and post little smiley faces. Isn't that right dan? (I'm expecting a reply filled with these :roll
