Setanta is a buisness, they need to make money and they're going to get far more customers in Britain with British fighters.
Theres plenty of fights I'd like to see, but the majority of the public haven't heard of any fighters outside of Britain.

Yeah thats right, Setanta are in the business of making money. So showing fights that appeal to masses of people is in their interest. Sure they could show the fights the 'real boxing fans' want to see but if only the 'real boxing fans' tune in to watch it then whats the ****ing use of that to Setanta.

I know that would have made your day because it might be the opinion you hold but no journalist worth his salt would talk to any professional sportsman like that. Bunce seems to have a lot of respect within the game with fighters, trainers, promoters etc... He's a sensible lad and a level headed one (even though he goes off on one sometimes) but most of all you have to give respect to get it back.
Why would Buncey talk **** like that to Woods or Arthur. It would be ****ing bang out of order. Even if he said something like that to a figher and I basically agreed with the sentiment of the statement I'd still be disgusted with him because you just don't ****ing do that. You'd soon be out of work and out of friends within the sport because I 100% guarantee you no one would want to talk to you if you did something like that as a journalist.

Again you need to get a grip son. When McGuigan or Bunce are working for a particular network they are paid (and paid handsomely in most cases) for what they do. So say for example McGuigan talking up Khan, thats all par for the course. ITV splash out £x million on Khan and then they are paying £x thousand to McGuigan a year. So whats Barry going to do? Go on and tell all ITV's viewers that the company who are paying him have just splashed out all this cash on Amir Khan and he's a great big heap of shite? Come on man get a ****ing clue. All this talk of 'fooling the public' is nonsense. It's people doing their jobs.

This is the place boxing fans can come and talk thrash or talk bollocks or call people bums or ****s or wankers. I've had many a dig at people here over various things. You can't do that when you are paid by a particular network or TV station though. You might think the Boxer A is a twat and a complete no hoper and you hope he gets starched the next he fights but if he is on the payroll of the same company you work for then you ain't saying it on TV.

I know people on here love boxing and are into the 'real boxing fans' fights and opinions about stuff. Thats great, this is the place for it. How anyone with half a brain doesn't realise that you can't talk about boxing exactly the same way we do here on a forum, or the way you do down the pub with your mates (i.e. oh hes **** he'll never win anything, he can't punch, his a chinny ****er, I hope he get's KTFO next time) when you are a journalist absolutely amazes me. I should know because it's how I did and sometimes still do earn a living.

I know Bunce splits opinions and that. Some like his style and his mannerisms, others hate them. Some agree with his opinion, others think he knows nothing. Thats all fair game. You don't have to like the way a lad presents himself, you don't have to agree with him. But coming on here mouthing off saying he's a sell out is the greatest load of **** I have ever heard. We wouldn't have some of the boxing we do on TV if it wasn't for Bunce. I know a lad at Setanta and he says Bunce tries hard to get some fights paid for that the company would otherwise have let slide. Even look at tonight, don't think that Buncey didn't have anything to do with this fight being shown. Calling him a sell out for doing his job is total rubbish.

And you can go ahead and call me a nuthugger or whatever, I don't give a **** son. It's not that I'm member #1 of the 'I love Buncey' fan club. It's that I'm tired of people talking **** about someone who does a lot to ensure we get a **** load more boxing on TV these days (for free - non PPV) that we ever did before just because they can't get their head around the fact that being a keyboard warrior and being an actual well respected and successful journalist are two very, very different things

Lets be fair here. Bunces Hour, despite its occasional faults, is still the best boxing program out there by a mile.
