Read it in two days lying by the pool on holiday a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed, but then a couple of days later i read 'the road' and that put bunceys literary skills very much into perspective :good

Cormac McCarthy's The Road is a brilliant novel. Just to be in the same post as it is an honour!

    Adios and thanks.

    Thanks Buncey.

You're right, The Road is exceptional. I read it in two sittings.

Give Blood Meridian a try, if you haven't already. That's the best thing McCarthy's ever done.

It is one the best of the modern era, i re-read it as soon as i got back and was just as transfixed the second time. I thought the fixer was really good, looking forward to the next work if theres gonna be one, just unfortunate that the novel that followed yours on my holiday reading list is allready a classic

    I will do that.
Hauser was always going to be on the book show long before I read his review of The Fixer. I had no idea he was doing a review. Trust me!

    Adios.

    Not bad :good

Waterstones have it for £22 if anyone's interested.

Paying £400 for a book is mad!
