Yeah, I agree with Bryn here. Steve is a guy that's difficult to hate, but in all honesty he does talk a lot of nonsense, just like Johnny Nelson, Glenn Mcrory, Nicky Piper etc. The difference is, Bunce attracts more heat for it because

1. He has always preached about "telling it like it is"

2. He does have little digs at sky

It comes across as hypocritical. As you say, any kind of criticism is taken way too personally also.

Yeah it's a shame he doesn't post here any more, but to be honest it doesn't make much difference to the forum because he never treated the forum like a regular poster anyway. He only posted to advertise his shows or to defend himself from criticism.

One or two posters took it too far by getting personal, but the majority of folks criticized his work, and not his character. No one drove him off.

 

Like I said, only one or two were ****s about it and got personal. Most people such as myself, rob, bill etc gave him fair criticism. We all have to deal with one or two ****s on the forum who hate us, but that's life.

Ordinary posters get the same criticism for talking bollocks. So he's a celebrity, and what? People should be nicer to him because of that?

Some arseholes on here have the attitude of "we are lucky to have him posting on this forum" Oh really? How so, when all he posted was advertisements of his show? Any replies he made to posters were half-assed and lazy. Wasn't exactly the most interesting, wittiest, most engaging poster was he? Again, this is not a criticism of his character or him as a person. Only his posting performance.

It would be more of a loss to the forum if posters such as fleaman, slip, skillspaybills etc stopped posting.

 

The personal attacks on Steve were and are bang out of order, most of it was dickheads just having a pop because he was involved with the sport.
The criticism of his work with boxnation I can understand to an extent, compare the old boxing hour on setanta or the London radio show to the boxnation show, there is a vast difference, you know that FW is pulling the strings and using Bunce for his own agenda.

Maybe that's not the case but It certainly seems that way?

 

The thing with Buncey is he talks a lot. He says a lot of things. This is one of the things people like him for, he can waffle on for hours at a time if need be. The thing with that is people remember him saying certain things at certain times, and if he should do or say anything different a few weeks, months, years later then these people feel the need to bring it up and demand that he explains himself, otherwise he is called a hypocrite or a sell-out, etc, etc.

I wouldn't blame him if he never posts again on here. This is, by and large, a good forum. Unfortunately it does contain a few pathetic, immature, possibly ******ed, sanctimonious, keyboard warrior ****s who get off on trolling any boxers, trainers, or pundits who want to post here. If it carries on this way it's just going to be like the general forum.

 

It's evident from some of his previous posts that he know all about us 'Keyboard Warriors' and how it all works, he should take some of his own advice.

Saying this, I'd much prefer this forum with Steve posting than without - but I wouldn't put up with the kind of **** that he has done on here.

 

To be honest I think it just cos its a forum, its not serious its full of people that are just on a wind up! try posting something seriouos and see how far it goes before someone make it into a laugh!

I only ever joined the BBC Sport forum then came here after they decided to get rid of it, I though I might learn the odd thing or two! :huh

If you say something that the king dongs dont agree with, that is usually the ones that have lots of posts and think they know everything about boxing! It can get messy cos after all you only have 100/1000 posts how can you possible know better or have a different opinion the the right one!!!

Stop talking twaddle man. There are lots of serious posters and threads and the number of posts people have mean **** all, the people that get stick, get stick because they act like mongs not because they disagree with something.

 

Ive learnt what I just posted!

 

Please let us in on some of your incredible boxing wisdom then, I could certainly do with learning a thing or two.

 

I said I hoped I would learn somethings not that I had a wealth of knowledge myself...I see how you easily you could get mixed up though!
