Yeah but Khan is above European level now, and has been for the past year.......

    Don't you understand, innit?

The WBO interalphabetty title is pretigious - you know what I mean?

    :rofl

To prove he is the best in Britain I feel he has to beat both - because to me Thaxton is a bit above Murray currently, with Romanov as the true test, a genuine top 10 135lb'er. It could be debated at great length as to the best lightweight, any one of three or four candidates.

But I will leave that for another day.

He is probably ignoring the fact that Diaz was as handpicked an opponent as Martin Kristjansen was for Khan

Indeed. Personally I want him to take on Murray, battle of the prospects and all that...but I can see why you would want Thaxton instead.

Romanov, I believe, would be too much for Khan at this stage. And I think he knows it.

Yes. I really don't know why that fight changed so many peoples opinions of how far Pac could go in regards to leaping up the weights...Diaz was hugely mediocre as it was...I've seen nothing to suggest that he wouldn't be crushed by Hatton at 140 and lord knows what would happen versus DLH at 147...

For me, he has to take down 2 of Diaz, Casamayor or Campbell for me to recognise him as thee true force at 135.

Even then, I would still favour the increasingly underrated Hatton to muller him.

I think both would offer stern examinations - and in a different manner.

Murray is more of a pressure fighter with a bit of pop - ala a younger Ricky Hatton, whilst Thaxton is a much more unorthodox, switch hitter with serious one punch KO power.

Clearly with Khan being very hittable and suffering from an iffy jaw - I could see him losing to either of these.

To me - a loss wouldn't hurt that much. It would be better to learn lessons now and improve than have to do that against a P4P'er in Las Vegas without the referee's assistance.

    I don't think Khan knows it at all, I'm sure he's 100% certain he'd beat Romanov...and that's the problem.

Me, I'd be perfectly happy to see Khan spending the next year or two fighting at UK and Euro level. It'll do him the world of good in the long run.

I think Hatton has plenty left - people were writing him off prior to Tszyu, post Urango etc and he came through on each occasion.

I don't see anyone at 140 with the style or power to beat him - and Pac would suffer death by ribcage whilst probably in front on the cards after five or six.

thats what i would like. if his next 3 fights were Murry, Thaxton, Romanov I dont think anyone would complain.

instead were gonna get super featherweight equivilents, and guys who were world champs for one fight that are just threre for the payday.

I'm still not sure about Murray. His last performance against Meager was pretty slick but over the years I have seen him really blow hot and cold against very moderate opposition...next time out he could stink the place out.

Probably because he gave D.Diaz such a complete and total beating in their fight, he probably expects Pac at the very least to SD Juan Diaz, Nate or Casa.

David Diaz is no mug so I don't think that is a totally unrealistic view but it's jumping the gun a fair bit to crown him "Best LW in the World" right now.

Manny is not the best lightweight in the world? Come on. He's the best until he loses.
Glad you all seemed to have enjoyed the show.
Sorry if your email - we left about 50 on the floor - was not read.
    Adios.

Pacquiao did a great job on Diaz in his only fight at Lightweight, but lets not forget it's David Diaz . The same Diaz who was copping a beating off Santa Cruz until he turned it round . Diaz imo shouldn't have gotten the decision over a shot Morales .

Pac did look fantastic but you have to take the opposition into account and I'd be cautious about proclaiming him as the #1 guy at the weight when there's guys like Nate Campbell, Juan Guzman, Joel Casamayor and Juan Diaz and he hasn't fought any of them yet .

I think if Murrau bosses Romanov and Thaxton - both easy fights to make he puts himself in a postition where he could earn millions Vs Khan. I think he beat Thaxton easily at this stage and has a better chance of beating Romanov then Khan. Stylewise Murrays performance the other night was world class.
