Harsh, but completely deserving comment towards the state of American Heavyweight boxing. Inflated records and mediocre talent.
Wow, Skelton, Williams, and Harrison... you guys should be just as proud!!! A little Pot calling the Kettle black, eh?
His co-presenter should have just mentioned the name B-Hop and watched Bunce stfu (after the mauling Bernard gave to Bunce with the 'socks' debarcle prior to JC fight). Oh and that co-presenter is one smarmy snidey ****.
Im not a fan of his either. He looks familiar. Did he used to present a footy show or something? Who's that younger guy that sometimes present's the show? He's crap aswell. They need to get someone in to complement Bunce better. When its just Bunce and either of those two presenter's and no other knowlegable boxing fella with them the presenter's just let Buncey go of on one. Although sometime's that can be funny. I do like a good ole Buncey rant every now and then. I imagine he carrys on talking like that after the cameras have stopped rolling but he takes a break mid-rant every now and then to chomp on a burger.
the british heavyweight division has always been mediocre with the odd world contender (farr, bruno, bugner, cooper) and the two true elites (fitzsimmons (for his time) and lewis). we know our heavyweight history is nothing special. the americans meanwhile have the richest history of HW talent and to see it that way it is, is pretty depressing. that was the whole point of bunce's little rant.
Bunce is a total jerk. He's okay moaning in a studio about American heavies but when he's in a fighters company he's like a little puppy dog. His 'interviews' with Hopkins for instance were laughable. Bunce was acting like his *****, agreeing with every word that Hopkins said. Same with Haye last night, Bunce just let him run off at the mouth. He should be hammering Haye for planning a 9 month hiatus, what kind of hot contender does that? A phoney one, that's what Bunce! Haye is ducking Matt Skelton, why is that Haye? Bunce doesn't ask those questions tho, he's a ***** that's why.
If i was in Hopkins' company i wouldn't disagree with him. He seemed a little unhinged in the Bunce interview. I think you are being a little harsh on Haye. He needs to take the 9 month break to build his body up properly. You can think what you want about Haye as a person or as a fighter and Adam Booth as a trainer but one thing you can't say that they are not is proffesional and thorough (ok, thats two things). They are not going to rush Haye up to heavyweight. Haye will only step into the ring with a heavyweight when his body is completely ready which is the right thing to do.
