I understand that the sports needs more publicity but that doesn't mean we should back someone who clearly does not deserve the reward.

How do you know theres not tiwce as many people on a Golf Forum than want to vote for a golfer??

plus at this stage, its not down to public vote. haye will not be in the final 12 and rightly so.

It's going to be McDowell for sure, unless one of the two Brits turns it around in the F1.

He was the first European to win the US Open since 1970, and only the second since the 20's, and then to do it in the fashion he did. And then to win the final game in the Ryder Cup with all that pressure. I'd say he was nailed on. And as for votes, in the Guardian poll this week he got something like 90% in his favour.

Personally, I'd have Mark Cavdendish up there. Haye would be a joke.

didnt realise their entire golfing year was to be defined by how they performed in the ryder cup.

Also Westwood scored the same amount of points as McDowell... 2.5 each

Yea, McCoy for me, people have been saying he should win it for years, he's been knocking on the door for a long time and he finally won the national this year.

    McCoy over McDowell for me.

Khan is shorter odds to win it than Haye, Khan's about 33/1.

Yeah, fair enough, I realise he hasn't a chance without that. But taking his stage wins to 15 was amazing and he won Green in the Vuelta. That's enough for more, especially after all his setbacks this year.
