Quality today, glad someone agrees with me that 'Battle of the Z Boys' (as it was billed) deserves to be up there with the ATG fights.

Without boxrecing, I believe Zamora was 28-0, all wins inside the distance, and had sparked ATG Featherweight (and future Barry McGuigan opponent in another great fight) Eusebio Pedroza.

Zarate was 56-0(55) if I remember correctly. If I'm not wrong he remained undefeated until Wilfredo Gomez smashed him, another unbelievable matchup, Zarate was something stupid like 64-0(63) (I mightve added ten fights onto either figure, stoned as **** but refuse to use boxrec) and Gomez 32-0 (32)!!!!

Anyway, both Zarate and Zamora are aguably amongst the top 3 punchers in the history of 118lbs (depending on what you think of Terry McGovern, I assume most would have Olivares as the no.1, Id have Jofre rounding out the top 5 myself) and they met with, as Buncey described, with beef, massive tension and a strap each at Bantam (I think the fight was made at 120, between Bantam and Super Bantam, and people complain about catchweight fights nowadays :yep) and those undefeated super puncher records (which were not bogus and manafactured like Edwin Valeros I can assure you)

I urge EVERYONE who hasn't already, to WATCH THIS FIGHT!!!

You can spare enough time to watch 3 rounds of two of the deadliest P4P punchers of all times going on one!!!

And of course, the infamous 'Pants Man', who appears to be about to appeal for peace and harmony whilst adopting a Karate stance and then getting a battering from the Mexican Rozzers :rofl

True Ice, but as I say, I invest no thought into titles. If a decent fight is being made (although I personally do NOT want to see Pac-Margarito) I'm happy, usually regardless of weight.

I say usually, I imagine if I had been around at the time of Lalonde-Leonard, I would've been mortified :good
