In other news, I love the finish to the Schmeling massacre. Shoots the right to the body, and then brings it upstairs. Good game. Louis was a beast.
I've seen everything of Louis thanks. Hence why Schmeling besting him in the first fight legitimises him as a genuine fighter. And a very good, by modern standards (sigh) 'Cruiserweight'. Schmeling was not a caveman was he? And yes, it's a devastating from the greatest puncher of all time, what's not to love :thumbsup
So you're not giving Schmeling much validation for stopping Joe Louis then? Or rather, Louis' win meaning little because of the dominant manner of it shows Schmeling is little cop by today's standards? And Haye wasn't all that, a lot of people would beat him. Schmeling is probably a bit undersized, but then again, the ultra-modern Lolenga Mock had him on ***** street.
Nightingale, as far as I know, doesn't hold a BBBofC licence. The after-dinner circuit is murky at best. I'd like to see the Board make all the promoters on that circuit get a licence - they use the Board's boxers, Adios
I'm not entirely sure what Schmeling has to do with Greb? Schmeling could fight, sure, but he was treated like an infant in the rematch. He failed to land a single solitary punch the entire time he was in there against Joe Louis, which wasn't for long. In the event the two fighters were to fight one another a 100 times, you'd more often than not see a one round beating on the part of Joe Louis. You seem to be conceding, in your own way, that Haye would smash Schmeling to pieces. I agree with you, Flea. At least we actually have footage of Schmeling. That's a good start.
We have footage of Schmeling having a good scrap with Mickey Walker. The same Mickey Walker that Greb kicked the living **** out of. The rematch is more indicative of Louis as a fighter than Schmeling. He was that good. But don't worry, skip over my point about Lolenga Mock. And I really don't get your rating of Haye?!? Really bad technically, overrated power, vulnerable, negative. If you think those are impressive attributes, or that he's aesthetically impressive, then you're off your head. Schmeling has skills. If you don't recognise he's more skilled than Haye then you're beyond help and I'll have to concede that I should probably put you on ignore. ;-) Seriously, that could indicate you're just biased against the older guys, because Haye is a really poor fighter.
