You still mention it though, Griff. I'm not going to argue with you over such a stupid thing, but to talk about FOTY and not to mention Vasquez vs Marquez III, is silly! It doesn't matter if they didn't have footage, they could have at least mentioned it but they didn't. Not a big deal, but the credibility of the show took a knock as a result.

I can't believe these fights were shown over here but at least Setanta gives boxing some publicity whilst most of the media has turned it's back on the sport. Love the Barrera picture selfkill.

    :goodYeah, me too.

I found some Japanese Boxing site that has some really cool sketches of Boxers. I've got Corrales, Winky, loads of Japanese Boxers including Kawashima and Hasegawa. Also Linares. I think they are really quirky, and of course, Barrera is my boy so it had to happen. :good

And I agree on your points about Setanta. They show some real good fights, whilst Sky Sports seemed to forget Boxing even existed.

In his defense it is a british show aimed at in imo bringing new fans into the sport. Over here (uk) not many people have even heard of cotto or margo, only if you are into boxing will you have heard of them.

The way to get people interested is to talk about home grown fighters that people might have heard of ala Mitchell. Altho as i boxing fan and someone who has heard of cotto and co i totally agreen that those fights should of been mentioned at the very least.

Absolutely. I'm British too, and I've only ever been out of the country maybe 2-3 times in my 19 years. Buncey's show does concentrate a lot on the British Scene, which I think has been poor for ages now, but they do cover the world scene and mentioning Margarito/Cotto was indicative of that. Considering how many awards Vasquez/Marquez III should be expecting in the FOTY category this year, he should have at least spent 3 seconds to say, "Vasquez/Marquez III should be considered a frontrunner. That was a great fight". He didn't even say that, and we all know how outspoken Buncey is, I don't think he has seen the fight. That spells trouble.

To be honest I enjoy the Bunce show on Setanta and I suppose a lot of the fights covered were on Setanta,Sky and British TV.Well surprise surprise how the **** are they gonna keep the casual fans interested if no ones heard of the boxers apart from die-hard fans.Listen I watch as much boxing as I can but don't try and tell me that ESPN even talk about the match between Mitchell and Johanssen. So Vasquez vs Marquez III may be ace but It's never been on Britsh tv cable or otherwise no one here knows who the **** they are much like Chad Dawson

ESPN would not have mentioned Mitchell vs Johanssen because it isnt really that noteworthy amidst all of the great fights we've had in 2008.

Buncey has covered a lot of the events in World Boxing before, and it isn't as if his show has made it's agenda clear that it will purely be about British Boxing. Forget it, when talking about FOTY, don't mention the frontrunner at your own peril.

They should get someone in who has actually had a boxing career and who doesnt make a fool of himself every time he appears on tv. What an idiot he really is!!

They have a blatant pro-British bias. I can understand giving extra coverage but the amount of attention DeGale and Jeffries get is a bit stupid, and they overtalked the Pascal Froch fight ridiculously

HBO only shows the moments of the year that happened on HBO. Probably it's the same with Setanta, they don't discuss fights they didn't show (other than UK fights).
