What do any of those three have to do with each other???? :huh Are you making this a black/white thing?
So now, the Light Middleweight rankings change... 1. Cory Spinks 2. Oscar de la Hoya 3. Vernon Forrest
I'd switch him and Vernon (who I consider 2-1 in his last 3...and neither of his big LMW trophies are of the caliber of a dominant win over Simms IMO). :good
Call me crazy, but I think Roman could come back from this. Maybe not to rule the division, or even win a belt, but still beat some other contenders and have at least a solid gatekeeper presence. He didn't look terrible tonight, he just got figured out and worn down. Styles make fights; he could still possibly beat some upper-echelon guys. That wasn't a shot fighter. Man was that last flurry brutal though...that might have done some psychological damage...
He's still a good fighter, Bunema was just the better man tonight. People are always eager to read subtext that isn't necessarily there. Tonight's outcome does not mean Karmazin is shot, does not mean his chin is bad, does not mean any of the fighters that didn't KO him before are feather-fisted, does not mean Bunema is a world-beater, does not mean anything other than on this particular night, Bunema did a good job and knocked Karmazin the **** out. **** happens in boxing, and sometimes you just need to take it for what it is without trying to read anything into it.
Yep you're right hopefully Roman can bounce back. I would love to see him get a rematch with Spinks but now it may not happen. I've only seen Bunema once and didn't think much of him and defenitley didn't think he had the power to stop Karmazin.
Well unfortunately for my fellow Cory, he isn't exactly in a position where he's the belle-of-the-ball with people lining up to dance with him. Spinks has to get whatever table scraps he's thrown, which is a discredit to his great talent, but is the sad reality. Both guys would be lucky to get a better offer than a rematch with one another. We may see it yet.
Karmazin looked horrible. He was holding his left extremely low without hardly any movement and Bunema kept scoring on him with right hands.
even though this fight was a while ago i did NOT think bunema had a prayer. good on him for seizing the chance to win a big one and enhance his career
