Let's of the East Coast talk.. Ricky is a Top fighter.. He is World Level as I have said so many times.. Would be to 10 in the 3 weight categories he's held World titles.. I get people's points.. No he's not elite but just look at his achievements. Di Rocco is a solid European level fighter. Would beat some top 20 fighters and would probably at this stage be too much for the British Champion Tyrone Nurse.. I think if Ricky can beat one of the big boys at 140lbs then he will go down as not only one of Scotlands best boxers but top 10 UK of all time.. He needs a couple of big wins. He would beat Crolla at lightweight.. Not too sure about Flanagan and Walsh

the post you have highlighted was in response to your game plan(or lack of one) in the brophy vs groves fight. i think you are one of the best coaches in scotland but imo since you have been spending lots of time sparring at joe gallaghers gym your coaching has regressed. look at the david brophy fight that was a joe gallagher game plan not a billy nelson one and you had lewis ritson boxing the same way, hands stuck to side of head and lack of head movement.:good

if you would listen to constructive criticism and not sit with your head up joe's backside you will realise that when you trained ricky at his best he wasn't walking in with high guard and no head movement but he boxed well at range behind a great jab and that is where your success came not by copying joe gallagher:good

i also think that its quite funny that your current best fighter is from the east coast:rofl stevie simmons so maybe you will have your own east coast jealousy soon:good

 

also billy why don't you tell everyone the real reason you lost lewis ritson? isn't it true that his wages were cut at the last show and you still wanted your full % from him? I've heard that in both scotland and in the north east of england but I'm sure you will deny it lol

 

Ricky Burns has no chance of becoming a top ten UK great. Even if he beat a top fighter at 140.

 

The thing is mate i make my own assumptions on what i do with my fighters and more often than not im correct that why ive done pretty well, not by listening to others as you thinkatsch
stephen is improving each week in the gym and really look forward has he is to his next fight, dont forget ive trained most of the best fighters from the east at some stage, ALEX,PAUL,CRAIG,GARY and KENNY i have no issuses with anyone from the east its just complete stupid comments from you that are so annyouing.
with regards to joe ive never once asked him about tactics for any of my fighters, if i was going to ask anyone hed be one of them though.
what you should do pal is look at all the titles joe has one in his gym, then ask yourself a the question, is joe a top trainer or not, even a dumb ass must come to the conclusion yes he is a good coach, the dont give out trainer of the year wards to anyone.

billy here is the problem with you, i have posted in the past saying that i personally think you are a better coach than joe gallagher and imo you have regressed since working closely with him.:good

i think you would have had more champions if you had the talent pool on offer to joe gallagher and imo if you had his stable then you would have the same if not more champions in your stable. he might have got coach of the year but imo it wasn't warranted when you look at the opposition his boxers faced in world titles.:good

get back to what you did with ricky and not looking at others especially when they are not as technically savvy as you are.:good

only my opinion though and after reading your post maybe you are too in awe of joe gallagher to believe in your coaching anymore:good

 

Yes, Rickster certainly deserves respect, but when Sky Sports pull up a list that includes Bob Fitzsimmons (a man who not only went from middle-heavy but won the lineal titles) it's clear how diluted Ricky's achievement is in comparison.
