We're just saying he showed balls, we all know Beltran should have won, that's not Rickys fault

everybody was saying "Gonzalez would have shut out Ricky if he didn't get injured" yeah well he quit, did Ricky? There's the difference

I’ll have to watch it again, but I sincerely doubt he broke his jaw in the 2nd round. It’s a shame that Hearn & co are trying to use that as an excuse for Burn’s poor performance, taking the gloss off Beltran’s performance and not giving him his dues. The only reason his jaw was cracked was because Burn’s for some peculiar reason was swinging so wildly and defensively sloppy, and Beltran deservedly made him pay. Ricky was boxing well in the first round and won the round comfortably, after that, I don’t know what was going through his head, maybe a desire to put on an impressive performance for his fans after Gonzalez debacle. The ref was awful, Ricky should have definitely had a point deducted for the excessive holding.

Saying that, Ricky’s a top lad and doesn’t deserve the criticism being fired his way, it's not his fault boxing's corrupt. Great display of heart and determination. Would have been nice of Ricky to admit he lost the fight, however, that's expecting the unexpected. Talk of Ricky retiring, hope not, plenty of great fights to be made, and he's fun to watch.

Prop to Beltran, great guy, and never have I seen a more gracious and respectful person after a robbery like that. Fourteen years of hardwork should have seen him finally have his chance to shine in the spotlight. Hearn’s doesn’t want a rematch, we’ll probably see Burns vs Crolla next unless WBO president forces the Crawford fight.

No he didn't... But if wasn't for Nelson he would have. (that pains me to say that, coz he's a twat). But credit where credit due a Nelson deserves credit for pulling his man thru. He wanted out of there but Nelson kept clam an pulled him thru.

Agreed, but for some reason Ricky didn't want to listen to Billy's advice and even seemed to get annoyed at Billy at one stage. I just wish Ricky stuck to what he did in the 1st round, i believe he has the ability to beat Beltran and make that a much easier fight than the one we witnessed yesterday.

His Jaw was not broken it was dislocated theres a difference.

If his jaw was actually broken his whole face would have ballooned up,if you want to see what a broken jaw looks like go watch Mallignaggi Cotto,Ortiz Lopez or Abraham Miranda.

Ricky Burns did NOT have a broken jaw.

Jquik's one of a long list of absolute dickheads on this forum. The robbery was a disgrace but these ****s are loving it. Making out they're pissed off about the robbery when the reality is they're thriving on what happened so they can trash talk Burns/Billy. They can say what they want but deep down these bottom feeders are loving this drama. Total ****s :deal

Don't agree with you here. Yes he knows what he's getting into but to have that sort of damage done and to pull through it for half an hour whilst getting repeatedly whacked on it takes balls.

Many a fighter haven't been able to do what he done - Victor Ortiz being the most recent high profile case and even more recently Denton Vassell against Gavin.
