I'm so sorry for not being bamboozled by minor improvements.

He's shocking, his attempts at 'boxing' make him look even worse, he just isn't co-ordinated enough.

 

Broner is not that good, quite clearly. He's one of those horrible fighters to watch as well. No real rhythm or flow to him. He could trouble Burns greatly though, Burns has been used to fighting Eurobums and brawlers which are relatively suited to him.

 

They're more than minor improvements, it's not even like he tweaked some intricicies, it was almost a mass overhaul, as big of a change as a man with his abilities could feasibly have made IMO.


I mean, ****ing hell. Watch him pre and post Boom Boom fight, you'd have to be in the asylum to think that the first version, which for whatever reason people seem to think is the more superior version, isn't extraordinarily more wild and just plain crude than the latter.

Yeah, his balance is still shite and only slightly better than before, and his hands are still, and always will be, painfully stuck-in-quicksand-like, but use your brain cells people, it's abundantly obvious that he's clearly:

A) More Patient

B) Has Increased Accuracy

C) Garnered A Broader Spectrum Of Punches Coupled With Improved Shot Selection

He's nowhere near as basic as he was, and certain people seem to associate that with being 'shopworn' or 'less dedicated(which yes, I have heard from someone before)', when it's as clear as day that's not the case. So much more refined than he was, and the fact that he's been able to the it to such a degree in what is arguably coming towards the latter stages of his career is so admirable. Put into context that he didn't have the kind of speed, reflexes, combinations, etc that other fighters like Pacquiao and Barrera have had the benefit of when making drastic stylistic changes and it's even more impressive. People are basing a lot of what they say off the back of the Broner fight, where a natural 122/126 pound fighter took on someone who had previously fought at light-welter and as a result was reluctant to implement some kind of crazy 'balls-to-the-wall' gameplan where he ran straight towards someone who it would've benefitted.
