Why? He has looked good and able to dominate against utter rubbish opposition, in fact his last few fights have been truly awful he got booed out the ring on one of them, he will not be allowed the same space and time, smart money is on a late burns stoppage, Crawford has never been over 10 rounds and he will have to fight at a faster pace than ever before, stamina to prove i think he will gas out just like gonzalez did, burns has never been stopped and gets stronger as the fight goes on
Crawford will beat him. Get the excuses ready Yo are dealing with two different sets of skills here. Crawford has P4P ability. Burns is a decent guy but not in that league.
Burns is coming off of a clean break to the jaw, not sure he can recover so fast, he had the same break as Ortiz - from round 2 and fought 10 rounds with it, his career might be over.
No but Moses, Mitchell, Katsidis, Martinez, all top ten wins, Crawford has nobody but a disinterested Prescott, and he didn't exactly look amazing against Klimov did he? Klimov is like a poor mans, poor mans, poor mans Burns If we are going by eyeball test and boxing skills, then Mitchell would have beaten Burns easy, especially considering not only is he a good boxer puncher, but he hits harder than Terence, and has better wins (prime Prescott and KO'd unbeaten John Murray, KO'd Johanneson, and KO'd Mendoza in 2) This content is protected
And the most important factor, it's ok to hype up Crawfords boxing against Prescott and Klimov, but he has been dragged into wars against journeymen before (like Burns), if Burns drags him into a war in Scotland (very possible) then he's in trouble This content is protected
It will at some point turn into a brawl because there is no way burns will let Crawford fight the way he likes for 12 rounds I stand by my prediction when the fight was made, burns by late stoppage . I agree about Mitchell I think he is every bit as skilful as Crawford but he couldn't handle the pressure the strength or heart of burns especially with 10,000 screaming scots behind him
I think you are in for a bit of surprise my friend. But I guess we'll see on the 1st of March. When analyzing a fight, sometimes I think people get caught up in the ..well who has he beaten to be held in such high esteem?....... aspect. That is all well and good when assessing resumes. To me, the sight test makes me think Crawford will win convincingly.
at the end of the day we will find out like you say on march 1st, I am only going on what I have seen of Crawford which are his last 4 fights, I have seen all of burns and have followed him throughout his whole career, ricky always produces the goods against better opposition and if Crawford is as good as everyone makes out then burns will have to be at his very best and burns at the top of his game is very hard to beat, should be a great fight,i will be the first to admit crawfords greatness if he wins convincingly, using your sight test method though Crawford will also have to produce a career best performance, not easy away from home
Can't argue with that. I don't think of Crawford as being great.... At this time, I think he is a very, very good up and comer. Quite under exposed, so to speak. Burns is better than his recent form, but i see his style ending up having him walk into Crawford's sturdier shots. I see him getting beat up, but not dominated. Crawford has alot of tools to work with. If he is able to hurt Burns, I don't see him letting Ricky off the hook. If not, I see him able to outbox him. Ricky holds the edge in toughness and is a more proven commodity. Props to Crawford for having faith enough to bring his game over to Burns's backyard.
Yeah fair play to him especially after the beltran fight, that shows he is really confident, I think the most likely outcome is points but I stand by my claim of a late burns stoppage. I can't see Crawford stopping burns because he is so tough and rickys power is not ko power so most likely points and I just think that the close rounds and they will be imo will go to burns because everytime he lands the place will erupt and judges may favour him for the round purely for that reason. If Crawford wins every round easily I will be amazed. cant wait though
