If Burns wins you know what, ill go to my mates house get his shotgun and blow myself away, but you know what, neither of those situations will happen.
Burns is ****ed unless Kat's punch resistance is shot. Either way he needs to put some serious force into his jabs and his right hand or he's going to get bulldozed. He needs to do what he did against Martinez, only better, and somehow hope its good enough and that Katsidis isn't capable of a Marquez performance.
The more I think about it the more I see it as an impossible task too. Katsidis isn't any great shakes technically, delivery of his left hook aside, but he's pretty good at cutting the ring off and applying pressure to the opponent. Burns looked good in extended spells against Martinez because he was able to out-manoevre him, and land decent flurries that kept him occupied, but every now and again he dropped his hands or stayed in too long and was promptly nailed with hard shots. Katsidis is obviously capable of taking a fair whack despite bruising up pretty easily, Burns probably punches like a flyweight compared to Marquez, and is bound to be nowhere near as accurate either. He might be a better fighter at this weight, we don't know - but in this instance he's giving up a lot - size, experience at this level and also the stylistic matchup too. With it being a British referee I can see him being cautious if Ricky starts to get banged up in the mid rounds, and a stoppage around the 7th/8th. Allegedly ought to know better than to go with Katsidis again, he's proven repeatedly that he can eat Euro level fighters for breakfast.
An extra few pounds won't solve his technical failings. He just can't control the range despite his height.
Hahaha, all gangster Its true tho mate, thats the reason you dont want team GB....I think it should be an under 21s team from all nations.
