'Get back to Kumasi' was what Warren was probably thinking after he ruined a lucrative fight between Appleby and Burns. I would love to see Burns against Litzau, that would be a cracking fight but he has no belt so a bit pointless
I dont think so usually when a Ghanian does well he gets a few more opportunity's in Britian look at Charles Adamu
He'll fight Stephen Foster I'm absolutely sure, and he'll get away with it because the division is thread-bare. He's got Fana (IBF), Aoh (WBC) and Uchiyama (WBA) out there as possibilities but will he be able to get any of them in the ring? I'm not confident that he'd definitely beat any of them though, particularly Uchiyama and to an extent Aoh. Otherwise, the amount of credible contenders around though is very low indeed. The likes of Salgado, Litzau, Gulyakevich, Solis, Baloyi etc might be worthwhile defences.
I wouldn't fancy Burns strongly against any of them to be honest. Laryea would be a joke fight though.
Even if Appleby had won, him getting a shot wouldve been laughable. Not much going on at super feather though, Id happily see a Martinez rematch.
Aoh and Uchiyama are good fighters. Warren might as well tempt one of them over - unless the agree a unification fight. In which case, fight Foster and hope to land the winner of that fight.
Ricky Burns makes the weight without any issue and will remain SFW for at least 3-5 more fights imo.I dont know were folk get hes tight at the weight its simply not true, like every fighter if you disipline yourself and train hard you make weight and make it healthily.
I think Layrea was made to look ridiculously better by Paul, not saying Layrea is **** because he has a nice jab and heart to go with it and will present most domestic level fighters a hard fight but Burns would easily beat him IMO. Lets face it Ricky's body shots hurt Evensen and Martinez....Layrea was nearly on a knee in 2nd round due to Paul's body assault.
doubt it, don't forget that foster is a hatton fighter and i dont think warren is over what happened between them yet. unlikely hes gonna want to hand foster that chance, that could lose him a world champ and give him to ricky, :nono on a side note...have any hatton fighters appeared on a warren bill or vice versa yet??? cant think of any :huh
Plenty of good risk/reward fights for him at domestic level. I'm happy to see Ricky in these type of fights...let him make some money. He's a fighter who could lose that strap at any moment.
