Burns - Martinez Round One

    I scored it 10-9 myself. Seems pretty logical if a guy wins the round but just gets put over.

    Yep, 10-9 basically taking the whole round into considerations. I remember Cunningham v. Adamek having a couple of these type of rounds, where USS was dominating then Tomas suddenly put him on the seat of his pants....won him the fight imo.

    Getting a knockdown needs to be encouraged I think, round Martinez, imho.

    I'd be happy with a 10-8, going for a knockdown often comes with a big danger and should be rewarded as a big prize in the sport, imho.

    Interesting.

    I think a legitimate knockdown should be rewarded in a round. The half point score has some merit in this case where if fighter a is winning the round and is knocked down but continues to win the round he is only deducted a half point but if fighter B is winning and knocks fighter A over and continues to win the round he gets the full point, same if fighter B, who is losing, knocks over fighter A then wins the rest of the round.
