No need for such a vulgar reply Billy you are always giving you opinion that's why we have freedom of speech when other's don't agree with you that's when you let your self down big time with adolescent replies maybe its time you took your laptop to cash converters and let your boxers do there talking in the ring and you stick to training them ....:bbb Any word on how Paul Appleby is keeping
What's the capacity for the SECC ... about 10,000 or so? I know it takes a bit of stick for having no atmosphere at concerts and that so I hope it's no the same for boxing events. I'll be there anyway. I wonder what this new Hydro they're building will be like for these events?!? Last time I got mine was from the ****** Promotions website.
Exactly bigjoet. Heres the deal with Billy nelson on brit ESB, if Billy Nelson trains a scottish fighter you arent allowed to say a bad word against him. However, if Billy doesnt train aforementioned scottish fighter? You arent allowed to say a good word about him. Theres NO margin for error either, cos the minute Billy starts training them they are the man, & the minute Billy stops training them? We should all slate & hate them. He doesnt half make it hard for me to have a proper scottish boxing debate as hes so partizan about his own stable. Its all sugar or all **** in Billys eyes. Im all sugar when patter up Burns, but all **** when I patter up Scotty! Craig Mcewan was a bad 'un for splitting with Billy, but now hes back under Billys wing? You better not dare criticize!!! Talking scottish boxing with Billy makes the current scottish football crisis look like mere childsplay:deal
I always liked reading his stuff but now im totaly off his input and with Scott back it seems to have rattled his cage and some of the stuff he said in the papers this week are out of order even Alec Morrison has told him so in the papers ...he always puts IMO now i feel its not worth any thing ...Simpson was never stopped till Selby fight i know Appleby had been twice but not like that i cant see him coming back from that beating Hope Appleby takes a long long rest 3 hard fights in a row FW done him no favours and calling posters names is not smart or funny time to grow up Billy
Mitchell's layoff will play a part!He doesn't look good now. Let's see how is camp does in time for the fight. edit.. i forgot Kevin fought a few months ago on boxnation..
Burns would have been a real problem for Harrison at his best. Harrison lost to Polo on my card and obviously lost officially and on everyones card to Medina the first time around. That was a well past prime Medina too. It was 7 years after he fought Hamed. Both those guys just used a good jab and movement. Burns has a solid chin and has been in with Johannsen, Arthur, Martinez and Katsidis who all hit with good power. Kat hits harder IMO than Harrison, so it's not like Burns could get caught and suddenly be in big trouble. He is the better boxer than Harrison and has all the tools to have beaten a prime Harrison never mind this one.
Seems Alex Morrison has a better story, for once I agree with the old gangster! ALEX MORRISON today told trainer Billy Nelson to show some respect after criticising Scott Harrison's comeback victory. By BERT MITCHELL The fight godfather has been left less than impressed by the comments Nelson made on the Scot's successful return to the square ring last Friday. The former WBO featherweight champion looked mighty impressive as he stopped Hungarian Gyorgy Mizsei in four rounds at the Kelvin Hall after an absence of almost seven years. But Nelson, the man who trains world champion Ricky Burns, believes the 34-year-old still has a fair way to go before he can be seen as a bona fide threat to the Coatbridge fighter. He said: "I am unhappy about Billy's comments on Scott. I feel that he has been ill-advised to make comments on another fighter. It was uncalled for. "Scott had been out of the ring for almost seven years and he came back in emphatic fashion and answered all of the questions put before him. "I also feel the comments were very unfair on Mizsei. He showed a lot of guts to get off the floor after Scott had put him there three times in the second round before it was finally stopped in the fourth. "In my opinion, it is not the place of one fighter's trainer to pass judgement on another boxer, and Billy knows my feelings on the matter. "Mizsei showed courage and bravery that would have put a lot of seasoned pros to shame. Considering how long Scott has been out of the ring, I thought he put his shots together superbly. "Anyone who was at the Kelvin Hall could not have failed to be impressed with the condition Scott has come back to boxing in. Billy needs to learn to show more respect." Nelson has been the man in Burns' corner through the 29-year-old's rise to world championship status, however big Alex, who manages Burns as well as Harrison, has issued a stark reminder as to who holds the whip hand in that relationship. Morrison added: "If you look at Andy Murray, he has been through at least four coaches yet, whoever is in his corner, he still manages to make the latter rounds at Wimbledon, as well as challenging for the top titles in tennis. "Billy needs to remember that whoever trains Ricky Burns would be made to look good by Ricky Burns, just as Andy Murray is a world-class tennis player, whether he has a complete unknown in his corner or Ivan Lendl. "This is not the first time Billy has shot his mouth off. He did so by comparing Ricky to Jim Watt and Ken Buchanan, and it heaped some unneeded pressure on Ricky. "I hope Billy learns his lesson and sticks to what he does best, which is training fighters and not spouting off about other people he has no business passing judgement on." Meanwhile, the Luxembourg Boxing Federation have issued legal proceedings against the British Boxing Board of Control in the latest twist in the row over the decision to stage a controversial bout between British heavyweights David Haye and Dereck Chisora. The fight, due to take place at Upton Park in east London on July 14, has been sanctioned by the Luxembourg federation, with neither Haye nor Chisora currently licensed by the BBBofC
http://www.*****.net/2012/08/wbn-photo-burns-v-mitchell-promotional.html how on earth does mitchell make lightweight?? judging by this picture!? how much weight do you reckon he will be shifting to make weight? In recent interviews Mitchell has been saying how he's off the drink and is "living the life now" Maybe the camera adds a few pounds?
Back to my original question; based on this picture at the press conference... This content is protected http://www.*****.net/2012/...omotional.html http://www.frank******.com/news/pre...-put-friendship-aside-for-classic-battle.html How much weight do you think Kevin will be shifting before fight night? Also does this picture contradict Mitchell's recent claims that he's off the booze and "lives the life"?
