I think Ricky is close to some big fights whereas FW would put the same safety net round Mitchell for the first couple years that he puts round all his champions including Burns. Not to get political but Scotland could be independent in 2 years so maybe best you guys hope for a Mitchell win.

Also people giving Martinez no credit, he just regained the WBO title against Beltran Jr in a tremendous fight at the weekend, that was a bloody good win for Burns but as ususal he gets no credit.

Ricky is well liked amongst the Boxing community, but he's not known to casuals outside of Scotland, and It wasn't too long back he couldn't sell out one of the arenas in Glasgow when he was defending his title, think it was against Laryea IIRC.

And as for Ricky fighting abroad..that's not the Frank W way of business, Frank isn't willing to step him up in class and will keep Ricky defending his title in Glasgow.

I think Burns tbh .He is the more dedicated so should reign as champ longer . Kats Moses Rocky etc now Mitchell .He is due a huge fight Burns I think in the next couple of yrs .Seen what happened to Mitchell against Katsidis.

Martinez may be a crude plodder but he was legit top 5. Katsidis was far better than a gatekeeper, that's pure hyperbole.

Gomez his best win? You don't seriously think that.

In fact you be trollin' :bart

Martinez was top 3 in what was, in all honesty, one of the worst divisions at the time when he fought Burns. It was him, Uchiyama and Fana who were the leading fighters at super featherweight, and a case could've been made for either of them being number 1 (Uchiyama had the strongest argument, IMO).

It was certainly a good win for Burns and for me it still stands as the best on his record.

Burns is solid, Mitchell is shaky.

if your looking for someone more exciting to watch then its prob mitchell but if your looking for someone who has more chance of keeping the belt then its burns.

I am completely baffled by this statement wtf is world class then ? :huh

Im sure your well aware of how many boxers compete in each weight class, literally thousands, so to be universally considered as one of the top 15 is a great accomplishment in itself and means you are world class.

maybe not elite, HOF, p4p, or atg material but certainly world class

Burns is the better fighter. But a Mitchell win would generate more interest with the eastend gangster act

I hope Burns wins to be honest. Because then i should expect him to step up an maybe go to the states for Broner or someone. Whereas if Mitchell wins then we'l have to spend the next 2 years sitting thru HIS bum run

Michtell has more potential to be in big fights as he brings more to the table.
