I wouldn't mind seeing that Jonathan Gonzalez's fight tonight either. He looked like a bit of a prospect the last time I saw him.
Eskimo Nell speaking sense ^^^^. Burns suffers because he isn't what most people consider exciting to watch...he is very technically correct, stands tall and uses his physical advantages fully, he takes a good shot ( in fact I've never seen him even rattled), he sticks to a plan and best of all he doesn't panic under pressure. Mitchell would be eating the jab all night.
I don't think he will go that far from what I've seen of him if I'm honest. His record suggests he's got good "prospect" power but when I saw him vs Gutierrez, he seemed a bit too in love with it to the detriment of his punch form. I don't know maybe it just wasn't his best night, and he still won comfortably anyway, but he didn't seem anything overly special to me. An adept inside fighter would cause him a lot of problems I reckon and if he continues winging his punches slightly looking for KO's, that won't help his cause either.
Yep time to step up and fly over... I dont want to see see ****ing Mitchell or Crolla fight him, Burns is out there league. Time to try and unify the division.. I think Rios would get beat by burns..
I don't think he suffers tbh. He sold out 5,000 tonight and had a whole tv channel telling the world he was unbeatable. Burns is a good guy and he's in great form. I just think some people (Billy Nelson, Frankie W, Bunce, yourself) seem to be expecting unrealistic praise at this stage.
Nah, he's got no chance of getting any good unifying fight yet IMO. What he needs to do is just keep winning. Mitchell will be a decent fight and a win should help raise his profile overall. But he'll still need another 2 or 3 years of winning (against the sort of level as Moses) to get a big fight someday.
Thats a bit of a moot point given that most of BoxNations subscribers, well over 90%, will know that he's not.
To be faie Roe i was like you with Burns but i think now he deserves the praise i think he has gone past any BRITISH fighters at his weight. He really impressed me tonight, i reckon Moses would beat Crolla by the 6th and probably put the beat down on Mitchell.
who does Burns fight then, **** of with this Mitchell bollocks he would outbox him and if you have watched tonight you know it to, stop trolling..
To be fair the Jockos will pay to watch **** dry if the turd is wearing a kilt (no Andy Stewart)....I'm talking more about recognition from the wider boxing cognoscente. Burns isn't the greatest thing to grace a ring by a long way but tonights opponent was pretty decent and I just feel that if it was anyone else, Mitchell for instance, beating him he would have got higher praise.
