my mate was up training at FSG today and the lads in the gym were talking that the deal is done.

Ricky Burns vs Michael Katsidis in Glasgow in November.

would be very suprised but happy if this comes off. honestly I think Katsidis is a tougher fight than Broner.

Just don't see how this fight makes money for Fwank.

Also where does it leave Mitchell.

    I knew it.

Frank must think 'the timing is right'.

Burns can either fight for a ring strap against Fana or defend like a champion against a proper challanger in Broner. In fairness to him Kats is no pushover but it still stinks that this fight is happening just because they dont fancy the Broner fight.

I fancy Kats to beat Burns by KO. I reckon his relentless pressure will catch up with Ricky and he will get caught. Nelson and Frank will rue this decision...

If it's true then it's a good fight but Im still dubious it will happen TBH, Its very unlike Fwank to risk his protected fighters at a new weight and a totally different level to what his fighter has fought at before, It's a big risk and a bit suspect for my liking.

Did you not read my original post mate?

they are talking about it in the gym, they are saying its confirmed.

No doubt Billy will be on later to either confirm or deny it.

LOL at anyone thinking ****** or Nelson would put Burns in with a fighter that

    1) Is over the age of 16
    2) above 4 foot in height
    3) has two arms & two legs
    4) And ranked in top 100

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Katsidis is a tougher fight than Broner or Fana. Broner was onlty as tough as it was in his home town.

you cant accuse a guy of ducking if they take a tougher fight.

    I'm dubious about this too.

Allegedly surely isn't going to make the Katsidis mistake for a 3rd time, having already had Earl and Mitchell knocked out?

Katsidis is just too big, too strong.... and would get Ricky out of there in the middle rounds.

Broner is a far easier fight, that would probably pay better too.... Allegedly must be worried about Ricky having his head turned in the States.

A good fight, but still... doesn't excuse Billy's behaviour or the last three "fights".

With HBO and Showtime full up till the end of the year, Katsidis will bite Franks hand off for this fight.

Good fight if it is made, but still strange that they were all saying that weight was no issue, and that they were all up for the Broner fight - then suddenly two minutes later he is dead at the weight and has to move up; there is something they are not telling us that makes me wonder what goes on, whether it is really in Burns' best interests or whether VVarren just moves the goalposts to suit himself and lets everyone else just deal with it. Guess we will never know.

Anyway, good fight if it happens.

STV are stating this is on. November 12th.

Alex Morrison is quoted as saying they've had confirmation through from War rens people and although "there are a few things subject to change they are pleased Burns is going back to the Kelvin Hall".

    Sorry, cant post link.
