I'm just hoping that Kevin doesn't turn out to be too small against all the top lightweights. I like him a lot, always have, have followed him for years, and thought he looked great against Murray, took the fight away from him more than I expected him to (thought he'd win, but not like that), but I am yet to be convinced that Mitchell can bully a top world-level lightweight. I hope he can, and he did look bulkier against Mitchell, but he does seem to have a small frame compared with some of them. Anyway, off the point anyway, sorry. Hope we get a confirmed date etc for Burns today.
Boxing News was saying Groves will be on the undercard, possible rematch with Kenny Anderson! What a card :yep Burns-Katsidis Groves-Anderson II
Groves going to the lions den. I noticed Anderson next to Eddie Hearn last night so that might scrap that. Mitchell seems to think he will be on the undercard. How about Lee McAllister vs Frankie Gavin for the Commonwealth Light Welterweight title.
Burns vs Katsidis Mitchell vs Arthur Groves vs Anderson McAllister vs Gavin Walsh vs Appleby 2 (if its a good fight) Pacquaio vs Marquez from the US. £10 on franks channel. i would pay it.
that i woudl liek to see ,but mcCallister never figths away from Aberdeen ..and i think Gavin would be too live an opponent for him
Kenny wont be going to lightheavy hes 100% staying at supermiddle. Fingers crossed should have confirmation on kennys next fight early next week
I have to agree with Billy (for the first time) that Ricky Burns was a very good SFW and may be a very good light weight the boy is a credit to boxing no doubt about that and forgetting all the self promoting by Billy as he proud of his achievement this looks a good fight if it happens but I do think Billy you really need to tone it down as your comments are going to hurt your boxers
Katsidis will always be a very dangerous fighter at LW. He may have become a bit of a punchbag in his last few fights but he's one hell of a warrior. Katsidis is one of my favourite fighters of the last ten years but I'll be cheering on Ricky for this one. Fellow Scot and top bloke. Can't see Groves taking on Anderson though. Like I said in another thread, too much of a danger without very many benefits. Andersons toughness, sadly, is his own downfall. Probably one of the most avoided fighters on the British/European sceene.
yes but so would a rematch with degale be possible ... As for LHW ,Kevins comfirmed that ! Cant wait !
