****** will keep Ricky Burns miles away from Broner, and rightly so. :rasta

Broner is nothing special. If Burns could beat Martinez, he could beat Broner, who was worked over by the relatively limited Ponce De Leon.

Martinez certainly wasn't anything special either though. Burns pulled out a career best performance against him and it was still a relatively close fight. I think Ponce De Leon would give Burns fits, he was outworked, dropped and beaten well by a similar fighter in Carl Johanesson earlier in his career. :rasta

Aye Martinez wasnt anything special, he was only the number one in the division:lol:

Seriously, isnt it about time you Burns haters gave it a rest? Its becoming a bit boring now.

I like Burns, I think he is a good fighter, but I do stand by the fact Martinez wasn't the world beater everybody seems to think. He was being outboxed by Cook before he knocked him out and apart from that he doesn't have any other decent names on his CV. Broner is all wrong for Ricky :rasta

Broner isn't very good. The much improved and more versatile Ponce beat him handily in reality, and as much as I love Ponce(no homo), he's a featherweight at best. Do I rate Martinez very highly? No, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility to think that Burns could beat Broner, who's been flattered by a win over an average fighter with no chin in Litzau.

Burns-Martinez is hindsight. Theres not many who picked that fight right BEFORE the contest.

I picked Ricky too outbox Martinez to a UD :D I watched Martinez defend his title against Feider Viloria who is terrible and Martinez really struggled. That's when i knew Martinez was nowhere near the top 5 in one of the worst divisions in boxing.

Ouch, don't back up your opinion with facts, it makes it harder for them to call you a hater!
