B24 it elsewhere:

.....January 26 title defense in Glasgow is no longer on the table. A projected return in late February or early March marks the third separate targeted next fight date for Burns, who hasn’t fought since his 4th round knockout over Kevin Mitchell last September."He's just having a wee rest before his next fight, which should be at the end of February or beginning of March," revealed manager Andy Morrison in an interview with BBC Scotland on Tuesday. “We hope it will be in Glasgow so that Ricky’s fans can see him in action.”.......

I'm reserving my judgement and anger until the opponent is announced, maybe I will be surprised and its somebody decent and worthy?

Then again maybe pigs will fly and I start shitting gold coins.

He should be fighting Broner, one of the excuses was that it'd be too sonn after his January fight...which is now off too.

We want to see Burns fight someone! He is coming off a good (not world level) win, surely progress is expected and not stagnation.

This whole fiasco gets better by the day.

Ricky Burns doesnae have a fight at all this year, because his team thought the world was gonna end on 12/12/2012. Those Mayans were the biggest trolls on earth.

Lavvvvvv it!

If the lay-off means they can find a worthwhile opponent. Then great.

Ricky Burns was going backwards not forwards, it was jolly good he didnt have those fights before Christmas. It was sinking lower and lower and so were the ranking of the fighters.

First it was Liam Walsh, then Ocampo, then Derry Matthews (who they offered him out on short notice for a packet of cheese and onion crisps)

The saga is laughable.

If he fights beginning of march he won't be fighting broner on the mayweather undercard in may as it won't leave enough time. This could be argued to be a convenient arrangement for his promoter and manager and would provide a good excuse to put it off further.

ABSURD!

How dare you!

How can you insinuate that promoter or manager could do such a thing? That is dastardly! Uncalled for! Outrageous!

Wash your mouth out with soap little boy! That behavior will not be tolerated!

Expect a fully healed Liam Walsh to be announced as the opponent for late Feb/early March.

:deal

But expect the unexpected, Walsh might "trip" over his laces when walking to the shops to buy some sweeties. And then F-wank will pluck some fighter 150th in the world, with a fancy exotic name to make it all alright.

Normally the case.

I'd love to think this is because they want a worthy opponent now and had trouble getting a decent name at short notice.
But I fear the worst.

And I really want to be wrong about this.

I also reckon Ricky might have knocked back a shitty fight/opponent and finally put his foot down.

That is now six months of inactivity or more for a man in his prime at the peak of his powers, it really shouldn't be that hard to find a world tier opponent and make a respectable defence.
