Given Broner is tied into fighting DeMarco, Rees would be arguably the best opponent for me but don't see it as likely, so look for a dud on the list or new entry into the top 15 for Fwank to draft in for this one

 

A few of us on here last week thought kim would be the pick.

 

Ryan Coyne isnt ranked in the WBO top15 but got a title shot from Frank so it might not be anyone on that list.

If it is, teak tough Ghanaian at #14

 

I only wish it could be Rees, cracking little fighter that he is hes tailor made for Burns & would be a good w on the rickster resume.

Trouble is though, eddie seems to feel the same way I do...

 

Gonzalez would be good if they can get him over. Undefeated, Puero Rican and a high KO ratio are good angles to make it an easy sell.

 

It has nothing to do with that IMO, like Frank W said recently..Hearn turned it down because he has Sky TV dates to fill with a fairly small stable, simple as.

 

Those Sky dates were always going to **** Hearn in the end. It was obvious he was gonna have to stretch his stable.

I have a feeling it could be Rees,but Ricky doesn't really want that.Trouble is,he does exactly what Frank and Alex want.

SimonRichard did well by giving us the top 15,but I'm not too hopeful of it being one of the more appealing names.

Has Boghere got a fight coming up? Thought I saw he was fighting Abril.

This is only my opinion and pure speculation,but I reckon "The Promoter" is terrified of Ricky catching GBP's eye,because he knows if Broner gets the mandatory,he will be unable to compete with the purse bids from them,and a big performance from Ricky would go a long way to losing him(Ricky) to GBP
But in saying that,I don't think for a second that Ricky would want to base himself in the US.
Far too much of a nice humble homeboy.

Considering the depth of some of the cards I don't know how you can say us fans are losing out, Hearn puts on the best cards in Britain by a mile, they're nothing special but the rest of British promoters are slacking.

One thing Hearn keeps saying is that he's looking to work with other promoters, obviously because of his smallish stable, the problem is all the old school promoters hate him..

 

I'm thinking long term. I said it back at the time, if marginal 50-50 fights presented themselves, Eddie ''might' take a softer route as he can't risk his stable getting beat, due to not having enough headliners to fill the dates.

Froch v Mack, Brook avoiding Bradley & now Rees "potentially" missing out against Rees.

Theres justifiable reasons for why those fights have/haven't happened, and i agree with them.

But let me ask you a question (but answer it myself)

If Eddie didn't have cart blanche at Sky. And all the dates went out to tender, do you think things would be different?

For what it's worth, I reckon there's a good chance Froch wouldn't be in against Mack, Brook probably wouldn't be having a final, final, final eliminator, & Rees would be fighting Burns.

Just my opinion.

P.S I do agree, Eddie is the best promoter in the UK right now.

 

Honestly mate,Ricky's got absolute loyalty to him.I hope it doesn't haunt him.

 

So instead of fighting for a world title Rees will battle some sub standard Euro because Hearn has got Sky tv slots to fill?....thats whats wrong with ****ing boxing. Sometimes in all this bull**** we forget who works for who
