Oh I can certainly see it happening, Hearn will look at it like it will sell out the SECC or emirates, will generate good viewing figures also. Should be an easy pay day for Ricky and his team.

Solaris, STFU ya fud Crolla couldnae get a job lickin Ricky's tartan jockstrap lol.

If you want to live in lala land at least spare the rest of us yer details. Ricky has been fighting his way to a world title shot for years and by the time he got it he was obviously ready. His record has a few great fights and damn good names on it and if you want to sit in front of your pc and slate those achievments then at least do it quietly and as we say up here....."haud yer wheesht ya dobber"

I agree Billy. Crolla should not get to face Burns but my point was beating Rees definitely means something and a lot of posters on here don't seem to think so.

I actually don't think they way things play out in next year or so that the fight happens as after the mandatory I expect Ricky to be after the "big" fights. Either way I am looking forward to watching the both of them and with Burns I feel that he isn't valued no where near enough by the British fans but that will come.

I'd love to see this fight. Crolla always gives 100% and while Burns would likely win it would be a good fight. I'd rather see this than Matthews vs Burns as Derrys chin isn't as good as Crollas. After the performance against Rees you couldn't say this is that much of a one sided fight.

agree with that one. Crolla needs to do more than beat Rees to earn a world title shot. Crolla just isnt big enough at lightweight to trouble Burns.
Why not Burns rematch that Gonzalez, or fight Vazquez or DeMarco if he gets past Beltran?
For me, up to the Beltran fight, Burns has had some decent fights but he's not been put in a 50/50 position. In his last fight, no one was expecting Burns to be tested as much as he was, as Gonzalez was an unknown Quantity & i recon fast car was shitting himself throughout the fight.
Until the upcoming Beltran fight, I felt that Burns hasnt really been fighting the best out there & he's had a few fairly comfortable defences.

Eddie Hearn's fan boys will be wetting themselves at this travesty, you cant even begin to put into words how awful that fight is.

Even if he did say it I find it amusing that they are looking past Ray Beltran,I think he's gonna cause Ricky alot of problems in there and is not the easy fight most are suggesting.

Being Scottish I'm obviously a big fan of Burns but if this match making gets any worse, if it could possibly get any worse, him losing his belt is probably beneficial to the sport ffs

Before any absolute mongs out there try and justify this farce, please think back to JMM v Juan Diaz for this title back in 09.... Ok ? Now try draw comparison...

Anyone who does try and justify this probably doesn't know who they are though I suspect, YouTube ;)

I was ok with this fight but after watching the weekend boxing it made me realise I don't. Burns needs to fight some big fights and not lose to the first big name fighter. He needs to go for the unifications fight. Also after watching Barker it's so much better watching these real big fights than 90-10 in favour of Burns.

Once we beat Beltran maybe Eddie will pull the rabbit out the bag for Scottish boxing and make unification fight in Glasgow in December?

That's what we were hoping for last time and we got beltran. I've no doubt if burns comes through this fight Eddie will be pushing for the crolla fight. He even stated it after crollas last fight.

More chance of you becoming anorexic than that happening.
