Burns v Gonzalez gives no clue to burns v broner

I'd hope Ricky wouldn't be as eager as he was in the Gonzalez fight there was no need to be reaching for punches as much as he was but if he does that again it'll be a tough night especially if it's a Vazquez/Abril/Broner fight he needs to be smart throw 3/4 punches and move Rees done that in the first round against Broner and won it whether that was down to Broner seeing what Rees had that's possible but if Ricky could do that for 12 he would have a good chance of at least taking it to points.

 

Different fighters and different fight, Burns has issues when fighters fight him at long range and use half steps back. He tends to fall out of position, he must work on his balance as he does tend to reach with his work from time to time.

Gonzalez boxed him beautifully, He saw everything coming in the first 6 rounds. He was calm, laid back and parried shots and worked the jab down and up Burns. Slide home some splendid shots and did this at long range and in the pocket.

Broner would fight Burns differently. He'd stalk Burns and prod away with jabs to body and push Burns onto back foot. Burns hasn't moved as much of late, he's standing his ground more and box fighting but i'd see him using more lateral movement if he fought Broner.

 

How you managed to turn a poor performance from Burns in which he was made to look like a complete novice into a positive is beyond me.It was an awful showing from Burns and someone like Adrien Broner would punish badly on the back of that,it wouldn't even be competitive.

That's why I reposted the whole thing again..

The guy is trying to say that Broner isn't as technical as Gonzalez and would play more into Ricky's style of fight.

Not the case at all Broner is not the plodding one dimensional fighter he's made out to be on this forum,he's good enough to work Burns out in the first couple if rounds and make him pay dearly.Broners fitness is out of this world too so itll either be a 12 round destruction or a very heavy knock out.

 

I don't really agree, I think broner would be easier to hit and burns doesn't hit as soft as people make out. I think burns would get broners respect early enough to keep him from walking through him in a couple rounds.

 

The bottom line is Ricky over trained and simply never showcased his skills, after a break he will be back in the gym for a fight in sept and I'm sure you will see a completly different Burns?
