No complaints about not fightin Broner if he fights Katsidis at 135. That legitimises the fact he might have had enough at the weight and is going up but will maintain legitimate competition.

 

Bout time this dude fought a live opponent. I fancy Kat to mash him.

 

Good fight but I don't give a **** what title they put on this fight - interim/diamond/intergalactic whatever. Its not a world title fight and Burns won't be a "two weight world champion" after this fight.

Good luck to both but I want Katsidis to win - one of my favourite fighters.

i dont think there is an anti-burns brigade, i think its more of an anti-mismatch brigade.

good luck to burns, i like him & wish him well but off the top of my head i can not think of any other current world champion who has faced poorer quality opponents in his last 3 defences, can you?

 

He's had a terrible run of opponents since becoming champ. I have said that as much as any. I'm talking of all those bitching about him before they even knew who he was going to fight.

There is no Anti-Burns Brigade, just a lot of fans who were really disappointed in three awful defences and what appeared to be running from a decent challenge. The Katsidis fight is a good one (that Ricky will likely lose), so I can’t see too many people having a problem with it. He’s a world-class operator and it’s Ricky’s first fight at 135. Good job I’d say.

Still disappointed about the Broner fight – would have been nice to see Ricky do a Lacy on him.

 

fair enough but im not entirely surprised to read lots of sarcastic posts when ever the subject of burns vs ????? comes up.

I'm back on the Burns bandwagon again now! Was a big fan after he beat Martinez but then the 3 horrible defences put me off him. Katsidis stops Ricky in the mid rounds, Ricky's head movement is poor.
