Burns is completely shot, Eddie is cashing him out for the Broner fight then he'll call it a day. Relikh took him to school there and was robbed blind by the Matchroom payroll judges.

I thought it was the opposite. Lot of missed punches or on gloves from Relikh and they gave him more credit and burns less at times, or in the last two rounds when Burns landed some sharp shots but hardly any notice by commentary.

The 118-110 scorecard was ridiculous though, really bad.

I think the breakdown of rounds here is a accurate assessment of the fight to be honest.

Think a combination of the weight and age is catching up with Burns now though, like people said he's had many a hard fight. Although he said in the post fight his eardrum went/perforated in the 7th.

If he loses the Broner fight he should retire or move down to Lightweight, not many fights left for him now I think and he should make good money for that one.

I was cheering on Burns but thought he lost that fight by 1-2 rounds.

Terry O'Connor produced his standard card using the tried and trusted Matchroom formula with Burns up by at least 4 if losing, by 8 if an even fight and up by all 12 rounds if on top.

Pepe must having been watching Still Game on his Ipad and handed in his card, completed pre fight, if he thought Burns won by 8 rounds.

The knock down not given was also a shocker.

Ricky needs the money and I don't think anyone would grudge Burns leaving the sport financially secure.

Hopefully he comes out of the cashout fight healthy.

Had Relikh winning the first 2 and last 3. Burns just done enough but completely controlled rounds 3-9 I felt. 118-110 was a joke though. That was the best I've seen Burns for a long while though, at times he looked class against a very awkward opponent which is no mean feat.

As mentioned above I think he made it harder for himself in the last 3 by getting careless but Foster was right to not score that as a knockdown.

Glad Burns will earn good money against the d i c k head after what happened previously with his finances and hope somehow he can pull it off.

Ah the thing in my post with the punches was just an example of the commentating from most of the fights mate. What they usually do is throw something negative about the opponent in then run with it.

Continually throw it in then continually throw in positives for the home fighter regardless of whats actually happening.

Sure tonite was relikh is just following him round the ring. I bet if that was ricky doing it...it would be rickys not letting up continually stalking his man. Not giving him a breather brilliant from ricky.

It sways peoples opinions. Regarding the punches ricky missed a lot himself tonight. I d be interested to see an accurate round by round of the punch stats for the fight tbh.

But to be fair to relikh had ricky hurt a few times tonite. Punches were hard. Whereas burns isnt really a puncher. Never really pushed him back much the whole fight either. There must be about 5 rounds you d find hard to score any other way but relikhs just off the top of my head tonight...1,2,10,11,12. Plus thats a knockdown for ricky if the shoes on the other foot. The commentators immediately start kidding on it never happened. We get one replay of it. Poor.

I was out so it didn't have my full attention but I did watch it and had Burns edging it, I thought the knockdown in the last round looked legit (it's Howard Foster so what do I expect) Burns was on his way down and the punch/arm scuffed the back of his head. I'll have to jump on YouTube and see a replay now I'm home.

The 118-110 scorecard suggests I was sort of right in my earlier post, it's in Glasgow and regardless of what actually happens Burns will get a decision and that scorecard is one of the worst I've seen for a while.

I see what your saying. Your right though if it was burns stalking they almost most likely woukd say that. I think Adam Smith is to blame a lot for that kind of stuff, he always seems to get a line in somewhere, almost making the other commentator agree.

To be fair, Relikh was lucky not to have a point deducted for the blatant shoulder use in round 9 was it? I was actually surprised the ref just warned him. The ref was actually good tonight overall to be honest, broke them up when needed too and didn't get overly involved.

Fair enough kojak. Forgot about the shoulder in the ninth. Surprised he didnt take the point off tbh. I m not sure if i m being biased...but its a bit like rickys coming on strong here he doesnt need the point...we wont bother. When the knockdown happens its this is looking tight on the scorecards relikhs starting to come on strong i better not give it.

But again i m probably showing my bias with that. Even though i m scottish and was actually cheering ricky burns on to win tonight. Guys a credit to the sport and to scotland. But it just bugs me that its not completely fair for the guys fighting. 118 -110 and the commentary is the thing that bugged me tonight. Your right the referee actually done a good job on the whole taking the two big points out which tbf could have maybe went either way in both cases.

Nah I don't think you are, I'm a Burns fan but my first thought was that the Knockdown was legitimate but I didn't see it too clearly. I'll take a look at the last 4 rounds once a videos up on YouTube.

I was a bit disappointed Ricky didn't target Relikhs body in the second half of the fight, because I think he could of definitely hurt him, ricky had him hurt in the 3rd with one, hes actually a good body puncher but seems to neglect it too often. Went head hunting too much and got sloppy in the 10th.

Wonder what Billy thought to the fight and how he scored it, he did say on another thread Ricky could be in for a hard nights work.

Yes, Adam Smith is bad for trying to get his co commentators to tow the line but I actually felt all 3 were decent tonight. Alex Arthur was slightly biased but it's to be expected and human nature which to be honest I don't mind as long as there is a more neutral man co commentating also.

I've witnessed a lot worse than tonight in recent memory of bias towards Matchroom boxers. I don't think there is too much to complain about tonight.

I must be the only one who thinks Burns looked very good at times once he found his feet from round 3 to 9.

I thought it was a legit knockdown too, Ricky got hit I think with a left/right then a miss target left hook help him down.

Fights on YouTube already. Just watched the knockdown, hits Ricky with a cuffing shot then the next punch he throws, does go right behind his head and he does push him down, so the ref was right that it wasn't a knockdown.

I am a Scot and even I have had enough of this burns circus.bhid careers been dying a slow death for a while and it's horrendous to see these continuous joke scorecards when he fights up here.
