Brilliant and about time too. Can see all the round being fairly competitive but Burns doing just enough for the majority of those rounds to get a 8 - 4 decision. If Mitchell is as good as he thinks he is, it would be a convenient time about now to show everybody just what he's got, none of this "i wasnt prepared bull****" if he comes up short. If Kevin tightens up his footwork he could give Burns a fair amount to think about.

I thought it would make financial sense to have it at upton park.

I think this will be a crossover fight for Burns in Scotland. The Interest in his last fight was far higher than its been previously. Now he's got a good quality fight against someone with a bit of a name and the old England vs Scotland rivalry. This will do good business and make him a well known name i reckon

Brilliant news! I'm praying it's at the SECC, I've never really liked Braehead.

Brilliant news. Has all the makings of a domestic classic, certainly in terms of atmosphere in the arena. Will be great for Ricky Burns' profile as imagine Mitchell will really look to sell this in the Scottish media and he is good for a quote. Let's see if Mitchell can finally step up and fulfil his potential

I really think Mitchell can do this providing he puts in the leg-work in the gym and his head is in the right place. IMO he is the more naturally talented boxer - Burns is a bit of a plodder. Thing is, you never know what Mitchell will turn-up, while Burns is a consumate professional.
