It's nailed on that if Burns wins his first defence will be against Crolla. Eddie has hinted about it. It would be a disgrace because no losing fighter should be allowed to get a crack at so many world titles (not even one IMO) in his first fight after moving up. But Eddie will be all over the England v Scotland domestic hype and there's no way he'd want Burns to box Crawford and get outclassed again for probably less money.

I'm not even sure how it would be possible? Crolla's coming off two losses back to back and hasn't even fought at the weight before.

It'd be terrible if it was allowed and I like both boxers.

Wasn't there talk of Burns fighting Broner if he wins tonight?

I think they would have to get Crolla into a quick fight first vs some unknown (like Smith had to fight in Spain before the Williams fight) so that he can chalk up a win before going into a title fight. I agree it would be a disgrace coming off 2 losses and then going straight into a fight for multiple belts at a new weight.

I think Diaz has a good chance of beating Crawford actually, but same scenario applies Burns gets beat in both matches handily.

Just also seen that Crolla is going to be doing the punditry on Sky, they are so clearly building up to Burns-Crolla. Possibly even if Burns loses.

If the fight went ahead I'd certainly fancy Crolla if he came into the fight wearing that suit. That would fvck Burns' head up.

Burns Crolla makes MORE sense now imo. Especially for Ricky money wise.

Both Burns and Crolla are now coming off shutout 12-0 defeats. A fight between them makes sense.
