Following on from me other thread, burns mentioned kevin Mitchell in his post fight interview, how do we feel that would go?

Personally i think mitchell has too much for him, burns is a decent boxer but not a big puncher and i feel mitchell would get to him and wear him down.

    thougts/opinions?

While Bunrs has seriously improved Burns has reached his level, Mitchell would win but could be interesting.

I think Burns is basically the superior all-round boxer with a much better defence. Mitchell manages to go to war with greats such as Walter Estrada, who Gamboa owned in a round. So I'd imagine Burns with his fluid combinations and especially the jab would be right in Mitchell's face.

It basically comes down to whether Mitchell's extra power could get him out of trouble.

i dont think kevin punches hard enough for it to make a difference, burns beat earl when he was still green and this is the version of graham earl before he fought romanov, i hope SN makes the fight would be an interesting encounter

Cracking match up that should be made if Mitchell beats Foster.

Will Burns be able to earn Mitchell's respect with his punching power? We all know Mitchell doesn't mind blocking punches with his head at times and if Burns doesn't punch hard enough then I think Mitchell would walk him down and stop him late. He might even be down on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage.

robpalmer, educate me burns has improved to his credit a hell of a lot in the last 18 months, especially the last 4 fights,so how can you claim hes reached his level,i think theres another 25% improvement to come

Burns is a totally different fighter to the one that was embarrassed by Carl Johanneson...... so I'd make him a live dog at worst.

I don't know if you watched the fight, but that beating came from both sides. If you have good memory, you'll remember Estrada almost knocked Mitchell out in the second round!! Mitchell was all wobbled and out of the fight for a minute but Estrada didn't push it enough. He paid for that mistake later on.

I think it would be a 50/50 fight Burns is a better boxer but Mitchell is stronger, would Burns out box him? or would Mitchell stop him? could go either way, both are with sports network so its easy to make, surely Ricky should be mandatory for the British title, Kevin's not defended it in almost a year.

Talking about Estrada, he went 10 with Martinez who has just KO'd Cook. It's all about styles.

What most miss with michell is thast he is a beautiful boxer when he wants to be...his defense is very good too, problem is the dagenham in him wont let him box, he has to fight....

Dont know what would make you think that, Arthur never managed it and Mitchell does not hit any harder than arthur.
