well it seems the trend that when a fighter comes into their own and becomes mature enough to handle their own business affairs, or at least have someone on their staff handle them, they make much more money.

Look at Oscar and Floyd, both former Arum guys, who split with them as they came into their own- and THEN made big bucks- and KEPT all the big bucks.

Now that Pac is made, he needs to lose Arum, and keep all his own money. He can pay Golden Boy 10 percent of a fight by fight basis instead- or start his own company MP to do the promotions. Arum does alot for Pac, handles all the little things, the entourage etc, but he takes ALOT more for it.

somehow- as nice as pac is , he isnt very savvy. He and Roach dont seem like money kind of guys. more like the kinda guys who would rather pay more and have someone else take care of stuff. like the guy who dosent check his receipt at the end of the bill. Oscar seems like the guy who counts it, and divides it evenly at the table. Floyd is the kind that also keeps his wallet close.

MP Promotions already exists (just like Cotto Promotions, Mayweather Promotions, Hatton Promotions, etc.). However, none of them are big enough to handle megafights. Those promotional companies are for up-and-comers, prospects, and other fighters hoping to jump to Top Rank, GBP, etc. eventually.

That's why Mayweather decided to go with GBP when it came to his own fights. They take money from Mayweather, but they have more (and better) resources when it comes to big-fight promotions.

FWIW, Roach wanted Pac to take GBP's deal over Top Rank's deal when they were both trying to sign Pac. That's probably one big reason Arum and Roach very likely don't like each other, and the entire Koncz thing (I believe he's more of a mole under Arum's payroll to keep tabs on Pac than anything).

Jesus Christ Mayweather is a draw, he makes $30 Million for a fight that 90% of boxing fans considered a mismatch but Pacquiao only makes $9 Million more after having 2 PPVs and 3 Major Sponsors.

    arsabs,

Forbes puts its annual list together from June to June. That's why that don't have Mayweather/Marquez (Sept '09) or Pac/Cotto (Nov. 09) income included.

That info was clearly listed in the paragraph directly above the one you quoted.
