Who would win from the Douglas of the Tyson fight and Bowe from the first Holyfield fight.

Bowe wouldn't have much of a size advantage and Douglas in the Tyson fight fought in a disciplined manner and wouldn't just brawl like Holyfield did.

If Buster's ma said Buster would win against Bowe, I'd give it too Buster.

I'll take Douglas on points. Bowe was susceptible to a good jab and Buster's was great that night. His boxing was beautiful.

    Overall career, obviously Bowe.

Tough fight for both . I'll lean towards Bowe slightly in a hard ft .

Bowe but it wouldn't be easy by any means

Perhaps a late stoppage. Would take the best conditioned version of Bowe

Bowe. I would give Douglas a great chance but I can't help feeling that the Douglas of the Tyson fight only existed because his opponent was Tyson. If Bowe was the opponent, he just wouldn't have fought as well. The fear Douglas had was a key motivating factor.

It feels like some kind of weird logic puzzle - Tyson was the key variable in Douglas's performance so without Tyson, the performance he gave doesn't exist. Or something.

Let's see Bowe got a better chin, better jab, better combination punching, better power, better everything. But I wouldnt count Douglass completely out if he was as motivated as he was against Tyson And buster was a good boxer anyways and Bowe didnt really have terrific ring smarts so there is a chance he loses a decision, but it's also more likely Bowe knocks Douglass spark out.

Cant agree, Grapefruit, Better chin? Not sure Bowe gets up from that uppercut in the 8th. Better jab? Possibly but not by much and Buster threw his on the move not just when his feet were planted. Combination punching? Buster was putting together some great combos that night. And he definitely had better footwork than Riddick ever showed which would be the key.

Buster was a fitter, better motivated, taller, naturally bigger, younger version of Tony Tubbs that night. Irrespective of how poor Tyson was that night, It was an incredible performance. I'm only going on Tokyo Douglas but he was in the perfect storm of conditions that night that maxed out his physical and mental potential and there aren't many heavies I would pick over him in that state. I like Bowe but he's not one of them.

Bowe was the best heavyweight of the 90s by some distance in my view. A tighter Lennox with better combinations and infighting = Bowe!

Buster had a MESS of Tyson in front of him, Buster looked sharper against Tucker in '87 (very, very good boxing match, btw).

Buster is too loose and won't have the height/reach advantage plus suspectible to uppercuts (Bowe's best punch some say).

I dont understand your response. The question was Douglas of the Tyson fight. Personally I think he fought a beautiful fight

I agree that Buster fought so well due to his opponent that night, if it was Bowe I doubt he has quite the desire, but close yes.
Bowe would win UD or TKO.
