The size difference is somewhat daunting. And while Ezzard is pound for pound leagues better than Buster, James could still box. It’s not as though he was just a big club fighter. If Douglas shows up in top form ( which he’d absolutely need to ) its not out of the question that he could have gotten the win... That said I wouldn’t make either man a huge favorite one way or the other.
Tough one actually. Charles is a legend but Buster at his best? Charles had heart tho, maybe he could do it..
Size difference gives me pause. Otherwise, I'd pick Charles. The Buster that stopped Tyson would be a daunting task for the smaller Ezzard.
Douglas caught "lightning" in a bottle for one night back in 1990...Charles is one of the all time great fighters...next question!
Charles certainly, which does not mean easily, but the class difference dwarfs the size difference. Unless he’s just going to stand there like Tyson did.
Charles would give him an absolute boxing lesson. In a 15 round fight I would expect Douglas to quit at some point. The "Tyson Douglas" was an aberration. How many times can his mother die? For the most part he was a hit and miss fighter.
